So this guy, John Bargh, reckons conservatives who are temporarily relieved of their innate fear will temporarily turn in to liberals. Liberals who do the same experiment do not change their views.

I think there's a lot of sense in this. Using After Hours as a petri dish you have the most vitriol directed towards sections of society people fear the most.

Like everything that sounds to be good to be true, it probably is.

His work sounds very similar to Diederik Stapel who was producing experiments that couldn't be replicated by others.

This blog seems to indicate his work may have similar issues (blog has links).

Basically this is likely clickbait feelgood Science that will probably get written up by HuffPost but when a serious researcher tries to replicate it using proper control groups and the scientific method it will turn out to be rubish

Seriously though, when you look at the "women" on the pro-refugee crowd i wonder is it more about increasing their chances of finding an amorous young gentleman willing to lie with a multi coloured hair land whale? Mabey more generally speaking that's why liberals want to change society so much? They look around at all the happy, beautiful conservative families and know they will never experience that joy so as a socialist wants everyone to be equally poor they want everyone to be equally miserable?

It would make sense that people who've grown up automatically privileged would err on the side on conservatism, since liberalism presents social and personal scenarios that are scary and unfamiliar to them.

And people who've grown up privileged would have better health, and better access to beauty products.

Sure, you can do all the experiments you want. The article also describes how to make liberals conservative.
What matters is what real people out there in the real world think.

If conservatism, right-wing and alt-right is spreading it is indicative that regular people worry about lefty and liberal policies imposed on them by their governments and EU, politicians that do not have to live with the consequences of their actions.

Jordan Peterson's done some interesting things on this in terms of personality and companies and work.

In terms of organizational structure, people who are liberal tend to be more creative and open to new experiences, but make poorer workers, work less and are more prone to mental illnesses. Your entrepreneur or your tortured artist type of lad. Conservative people don't come up with much in terms of great ideas, but they keep those great ideas running properly.

Companies without either personality type tend to collapse.
