The last few years has seen a very slow increase in GPU power and an even slower increase in CPU power, but with AMD putting pressure on Intel with Ryzen and bitcoin mining pushing GPU progress there could be a big jump in power with the next system.

I'm hoping for a PS3 turn around, that was a terrible console for a long time before totally upping its game and becoming a very good one in its final few years. Until that happens I'm going to be unimpressed with that piece of plastic and silicon which I mostly use to watch Netflix on the communal TV in the house.

That is just last year, your far more fortunate than me if you had time to play and finish all those. 70 million systems sold has to be for a reason and it isn't just Bloodborne

At least it's not the Xbox One, a console with so few worthwhile exclusives that it's the only major games console I've had no interest in owning.

Either way, you don't like many of the PS exclusives that have come out, and don't like the look of some of the ones due to come out. That's fair enough. But many people do. The exclusives are generally very highly rated and acclaimed by reviewers and by gamers in general. For many, the cost of the console has more than been worth it and were a PS5 to be announced, there are many who'd be lining up to buy one at launch or soon after in order to play the next installments of those exclusive franchises.

I only played 2 Jap games last year - Yakuza 0 which I absolutely loved, and The Last Guardian which was an absolute pile of **** with a hairy cat. Played the demo of Gravity Rush but it was utter ****e IMO, only lasted 20 mins before I deleted it again. Spiderman looks like it could be a sleeper for GOTY (depending if it plays as good as it looks & RDR 2 slips to next year ). David Cage has had a couple of missteps (BTS being one of them) but the games are generally engrossing experiences - wouldn't call him god awful by any stretch and Detroit looks surprisingly decent. No interest in GOW or Days Gone so can't comment on those, TLOU 2 of course has big shoes to fill but it's in safe hands.
