As for the idea that he doesn't deserve this sort of message, I'd say catch a grip and look at Ulster's performances and results under his tenure. Backwards at a rate of knots. He doesn't have a clue.

Let him get his confidence and groove back in the Pro14 carving open some teams. He is improving but still isn't close to the guy that many tipped to go on the Lions tour. Larmour is a complete joy to watch in attack. The speed and fluidity of step is something that BOD (Lions 2001 try) and Fitzgerald (Croke Park 2009 try) had when they were 21 or 22 but lost very shortly thereafter through injury and bulking up. Hopefully he retains that ability because his step is probably the best of all.

Does so many things right on the pitch. Still needs to work on his tackling. It's been rather patchy since his comeback.

It'd be so much harder for him to cut in and out playing at 13. In terms of the footwork required for that position I think Ringrose has the better of him. Besides, I think it comes down the best use of resources. With that in mind you keep midfield as is and Larmour stays at FB. Stick Joey in at 10 and baby we got a stew going. Garry has a rugby intelligence I can't remember seeing from a young Irish back in my time of watching. He doesn't possess any of the physical attributes that are almost mandatory to make a breakthrough these days be it speed, size or whatever. He reminds me so much of a Conrad Smith
