Breaking: At least 1 man dead after stabbing rampage in Dundalk

GARDAI are investigating a string of stabbing attacks this morning that has left one man dead and two others injured.

The incidents took place in Dundalk, Co Louth. One man has died after he was attacked and stabbed on Avenue Road. He is understood to be of Asian descent. His age is as yet unknown. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is understood that two other men - both understood to be Irish - were subsequently injured in separate attacks.

Gardaí who were called to the scene confronted and disarmed the attacker.

He has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being detained at Dundalk Garda Station. He can be questioned for up to 24 hours. It is understood that the attacker is originally from Syria.

I didn't label it terrorism. It makes no difference whether you use that label. I'd call it jihad. There is no evidence that the perpetrators of the Berlin or Nice lorry attacks had any formal connection to IS or Al Quaeda. It is very likely that they were "supporters" though.

What most of the smaller scale EU knife/machete/hatchet attacks have in common with the Dundalk attack is the perpetrators migrated into the EU illegally, from an islamic country which was not in a state of war at the time, and then found it was possible to just wander round using various aliases, applying for asylum and then moving on whenever the claim was rejected.
They began to hate Europe and all its liberal values. Jihad as a concept is a personal thing. An individual may choose his own version and act on it, believing that paradise is the ultimate reward for those who die during the act.

People who feel terrorised may choose to call it terrorism.

As far as I understand it the Gardai have been unable to establish 'anything' apart from the fact that he is 18 and from Egypt - i.e they cannot rule out terrorism either.

Yes because he so deserves kittens and a safe space to chill incase he might have a sexual emergency. Those on the left will say sure Irish people commit murder as well, yeah we all know that but the fact remains that if we had a strong border like the Hungarians and Poles have this illegal might not have made it into our country and an innocent person wouldn't be dead.

The Government have been quietly letting people in over the last 2 years and haven't given any explanation as to what checks are preformed to ensure that they are genuine.

Yes because because what happened in Dundalk wasn't barbaric at all. All scum and terrorists like this should pay the ultimate penalty, I'd be perfectly fine with giving him an injection of Nembutal and I've watched animals be put to sleep to end their suffering and it is a peaceful a death as you could give an animal. This guy is not even an animal as animals are shown to have empathy. The Death Sentence is what he needs and it should be introduced and used often for all murder and a host of other crimes.
