Pass Kippure on your right and travel to Sallygap crossroads, take a right towards Blessington and Kilbride and stay on that road until you arrive at a small church. The spot is down under the road.
From Kippure it is probably 20kms or so.

Thanks Keps, This picture got as high as any of mine ever did in explore on flickr, so I was delighted with that.
I love going back to this old ship to get pictures and I love getting out and getting pics of the aurora, so I was pleased to combine the 2 in this shot...

Can we go back to saying where the photos are taken please?

That's a cracking image Mystical Rain. Been on my list to get that shot the last year but no luck with weather anytime I was there. Was inspired by Norman McCloskeys (Kenmare photographer) image of the Skellig Moon.

You nailed it! Lovely sky tones and wave action. Well done!

Thanks Wallin. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of shooting the Skelligs. The weather in Kerry is always a bit of a crapshoot. But I shot two evenings in a row in Portmagee and got the shot I wanted on the second day. I have more pictures of the Skelligs I'll be posting here in the coming months as well

Norman McCloskey’s shot was definitely an inspiration. Hopefully I’ll get a shot of the moon over the Skelligs at some point in the future. I had the pleasure of meeting Norman at an art exhibition a while back and got to complement him in person about his Skellig shot.

Alas, I spend most of my time in Dublin due to work. But it's definitely useful having the old family homestead down there to use as a base during holidays.

Thanks Tom. If you're familiar with eastwest maps it's past Glenmalure in Wicklow where I started the walk at Drumgoff recreation area off the military road. You follow the Wicklow Way west for a small bit before taking a track through the woods which brings you out onto the boardwalk. Lovely walk and glad I found it. If you're up for it you can head all the way to Lugnaquilla.

Yes I followed that story with interest and was very relieved the judge saw sense. The consequences for hillwalkers could have been disastrous.
