Terrestrial Setup For Linux Boxes

I currently have a Edision OS Mega linux box that has a terrestrial tuner built in as well two satellite tuners. The satellite tuners are working fine but I cant for the life of me get the terrestrial tuner to find saorview channels.

At the minute I have two TVs, one with a saorview box attached that receives channels fine and the second TV with a digital tuner that also picks the channels up fine.
I have set my Edision tuner on the box up as follows:
Tuner Type: DVB-T2
Config Mode enabled
Country: Ireland
Region: Dublin
Enable 5v: Off

I'm not sure what to check now as I tried different settings and its still not working.
This is my current setup(Pic Attached) with regard to the aerial coming inbound. Could there be something preventing me here from picking up channels?

You don't say image you are using and did it come with the image pre loaded? Its possible the dtt tuner needs a driver and it may sound silly, are you in dublin? If you go to the saorview page you can find the actual number of the ch you need for dtt, in Clare it maghera and ch48 and ch55. I would plug in the aerial lead that goes to the tv that gets saorview directly into sat box and then do a loop out to tv and try tv to see if that bit is working.

I should add that the splitter on that out socket can weaken signal a lot.

I have it running Openvix, I think your onto something regarding the driver as it came with a version of Openvix preinstalled that actually found saorview. I then flashed it with another openvix image that I liked the look of. It hasnt worked since.

I'm in Kildare and nearly positive its ch30 that I'm on.

Ye I think ill upgrade the aerial out to a triple out to increase signal strength.

Would you know what driver I might need? I've looked online but not finding much? Tuner type is FTM-4862 (Availink AVL6862)

If you can see the tuner under configuration then image has found it. You could try a hard reset ie power off using switch at back and try the best aerial feed and see if that does it. Not sure if an integrated tuner needs an additional driver. The best option for soarview is a usb tuner called sony play tv, cheap as chips on ebay and the beauty of it all is that its a dual tuner so you can record loads and watch others.

Not great prices really, particularly as they are all pre-owned, not new.

There does not seem to be even one available new.

Despite previous posts, its not a driver issue. Drivers are for usb devices not onboard NIMS.

When you go service searching, I guess you are seeing the 3 tuners.

The DVB-T one go down to it and change the Country to All, the Region to Europe DVB-T. Save that.

Now go in an scan. You can autoscan and it should find the 2 muxes (2 frequencies with the channels)

You can also manually tune the dvb-t tuner. The signal meter should shoot up when you pick the right channel frequency. You say you are in Kildare. Ch 54 and 58 if its Kippure. if its Cairn Hill thats your local transmitter that Ch 47 and 44.

Thank you, have it working now connected to Kippure. Have spent a few days scratching my head with this.

I might be back on with a question connecting a USB tuner triplestick 292e to a vu solo 2 but ill look into that in a few days.

You'll need to install a driver for that. Plugins, Download plugins, Drivers and look for dvb-usb-pctv292e and install it.
