Not just that, the sheer number of new cars sold vs what as sold in previous decades, plus things like rust proofing and the general availability of information on how to fix and maintain cars, sharing of components and aftermarket parts availability.

What will kill them in between being 15 and 30 years old is insurance, relatively high tax vs co2, and low purchase price meaning they fall into the hands of people who will run them into the ground. But again the sheer numbers out there mean there will be more survivors than older cars.

Classic insurance will become much more expensive and insurers will only cover certain cars

So all doom and gloom as far as I can predict!

Well, it would have been worth more 18 months ago, and even at €2k it's well priced.

I would guess the guy selling it now didn't put the engine in it. Unusual to have a new new engine put in.
