Thought I'd update the OP with links and stuff for anyone who stumbles across this.

The former Off the Ball hosts have partnered with The Irish Times to do a series of weekly podcasts. They go online each Tuesday and cover a variety of sports, with a number of contributors including Sid Lowe, Richie Sadlier, Gerry Thornley and Shane Horgan.

Think they were prob too busy with the live shows, the book show could have been recorded earlier in the week so they didnt need to do a show Friday

I went Friday night, little disappointed to be honest. I wouldn't be a big fan of rugby, US sports or mma. They were the three topics. Also have a massive dislike for ewan mckenna, a twat of the highest order. 7.30 to 9 and it was over. Some funny bits all the same but you missed very little

Also means more ticket sales. Surely if you're easily selling out a 300 seater so fast it makes sense to move to a bigger venue.

In fairness it sounds like you wanted a soccer and GAA show which they were never going run. US murph was hardly going to fly over and not cover us sports.

The one thing that annoys me about US murph is how he mentions everytime he is on "great knowledge eoin / murph".

Lately, I've been cherry picking episodes I should download. I only really listen to the football and US Murph now.
I loved the politics and players chair, but they are not on enough for my liking.

Same here, Ive been seriously cherry picking the episodes lately aswell to the point that im probably only listening to 2 or 3 a week and that usually includes the free monday football podcast.

I know its not fair to compare, but lately ive been more looking forward to The Stand episodes than SC.

They aren't. My understanding of what was in the pod was they were pointing out it's offensive to black people. I don't think any of them said 'i am offended' once.

I think this is natural over a long enough period of time with any podcast. Once upon a time I never missed an episode of the Football Ramble or even The Nerdist and I don't listen to either anymore.

Anyone else think they could do with less jingles. I'm always listening in the car and I find myself always pressing the forward 30 second button A LOT lately. There must be 3 or 4 minute long jingles in the latest few pods. One at the start and one at the end max please...they're great jingles the first and second time you hear them but after 50 times...Jesus.

I hate to admit it, but I agree. I love them, but they go on for ages sometimes.

Best one this year was the Danish fellas firing shots at us. That was hilarious.

(But Coach is still the best)
