Petrol straight six BMW engine is not only beautifully balanced, it is very reliable too. Of all the engines in mainstream cars, this has to be one of the top 5 best engines ever made. Have a look at the engine of the year awards, BMW has won it more than any other car maker.

Does that Bravo come with the infamous M32 gearbox or do they have Fiat's own gearbox? That would be my only concern.

No the 165 uses the f40 box I believe.

They were putting what they had at in store at the moment and the picture is too small to tell. The M32 has the R in the "front-left", F40 in "back-right" position.

The engine is shared with the Lancia delta including the box and it's coming up as the f40.
I'll check a few more sources but if it's correct then the car would be fairly reliable gearbox wise.

I'm not saying it's not a nice car but it is ex UK, has a few alarm bells that make me think the bodywork isn't great in real life, it has a dodgy dealer paper floor mat and the mileage does read as a high number (250,000).

I'd say €2k is no more than on the money. It's a nice alternative choice of car.

As far as I can see it's the highest mileage Panda for sale on Done Deal this morning, by some margine. If it's clean and running OK it's great credit to the basic durability / maintainability of the car.

If the engine is running well now, there's no reason why it wont go another 40-50k miles. They really are that good. Especially with a new timing belt.

There not a lot else to go wrong in the panda, but small things like minor controls, wiper linkage and seat material will have felt the mileage. If they are serviceable, they're textbook bangernomics.

Pricey enough for what it is, although they sorted all the gremlins by that model. I'd still rather my 1.6 over the 1.4, but only marginally.

The '09 diesel bravo must be the better bet at this stage - if you can get the price to 2,000

Debatable bangernomics entry for sure. LPG, NCT 5/18, versatile, €1250. Left hand drive kinda hinders the bargain aspect though..or does it?
