Aer Lingus Fleet/Routes Discussion

The seat map for the B767-200 being leased by EI next year are available on the Aer Lingus website, the seating is 2,3,2 in economy (As was suspected) and 2,2,2 in business

There are 189 economy seats and 12 Business seats making a total of the reported 201 seats.

Anyone know whether the B767 will be repainted, partially or entirely, in the EI colours for the 6 months that its leased for?

I understand the comfort situation but apparently the B757 is more responsive than the A330. Personally I haven’t travelled on an B757.
Both being wedged between 2 people must be the same on any aircraft.

Shn99......want to expand on that review? Was it the seat, the lack of legroom, the food or the IFE that wasn’t nice?

Funny I've heard the 757 trumps

the 330 comfort and IFE wise.

Leg room is the only thing that "trumps" the a330 comfort wise. No ajustable head rests, seat cushions werent even glued on! IFE isnt great, very unresponsive, froze quite alot. Bring your own headphones as they supply you with cheap earpods, unlike the A330 noise cancelling headphones. I wouldnt go rushing back to the EI 757 in the future.

My Folks went out on a 752 to IAD last year and back on a 333 from JFK. they found the 752 much nicer, in terms of comfort etc and so on. they would care for IFE so not a big deal for them. they found the 333 flight cold and service was poor in the cabin.

I have to say from my personal experience, I really liked the 757. I found the seats sturdy, strong and comfortable. Leg room was great no complaints. IFE was absolute fine seamless and easy. Service was great, was done quickly.
The only negative experience I had was I felt the toilets a bit unpleasant. They are the only part that give away it’s an older generation aircraft and still have that horrible blue loo water and flap covering the pipe to the waste tank as opposed to the suction flush. But for the 2 mins it takes to use the loo I don’t consider it a significant issue. And aside from this I found the cabin appearance to look very clean and fresh.

I was on the 757 two weeks ago from Washington DC and quite liked it, there actually seemed to be less cabin noise, I always think you hear a lot of noises from the galleys and other passengers on the A330, but I didn’t notice it on this trip. Agree with the above about the toilets, makes the age of the aircraft very obvious, but no big issue really.

All of the newer A330 have the newest IFE product onboard including EWR, FNG,FNH,GAJ,GCF - the other a330 will be retrofitted with the latest IFE product commencing this month.

kind of....EWR has an old EXlite system..the screens make it look new like the EX3 as it has the newer eco monitors,however the retrofits coming next month wont have USB outlet on the monitor it'll be a mix of like the business class power/usb outlets in economy front rows and stand alone USB outlets in the seat front in normall rows

Although not long haul like the Belfast routes you mentioned, Cork crew have to go to Shannon every day during the summer to operate FAO/AGP.

Heard that the plan to base the A330 in SNN is not finalized and in fact it is looking more likely it will be two 757s operating same as this year.

DUB-PHL increased from 4 to daily on B752.

DUB-YYZ drops from 7 to 6 weekly and gives 4 spare A330 slots for cover.
