How many chances does rick need to kill negan? Its getting real old. Hes on the ground and youre standing over him with Lucille, don't jab him in the ribs with the butt end.

He isn't actually dead yet and the show is so terrible now that i wouldn't be surprised if they swerved it and he survives somehow.

"Watching Gimple fire my son 2 weeks before his 18th birthday after telling him they wanted him for the next 3 years was disappointing" Going on this, that show runner, as well as being an utterly useless plot driver, is clearly a dick with it. Sure actors are used to "resting between roles", but the character in the comics is and remains a central one and for good reasons, him being the "next generation", so the actor involved would have thought it was OK to relax and enjoy the ride. I mean the kid bought a house in the are of filming just before this, surely the show runner would have known that. Yeah, dick sums him up and his residence in the show runner role has been almost universally panned.

Maybe this Gimp thinks he'll groom a young woman/Rick's daughter for the role*, y'know to tick all the demographics. Or like I said he reckons this "shock" will stop the ratings falling away. I'll bet it won't and I'd further bet the other actors are going to be reading the almost universal reviews panning the series direction and thinking "WTF, I'm next and don't trust the eejit in charge, whatever he tells you".

*after all she's growing with magical super speed, while Maggie will give birth in ten years time. I love how the preacher wants to get the baddy's doctor to Maggie for the birth. At this rate the doc's son or daughter could be in time...

This whole "artistic" thing is really pissing me off this season - hell it's a zombie show, do we really need slo mo takes of characters heads all the time on top of all the presumptions about what has happened in between each episode

Still not renewed for season 9...hmmm is Amazon vying for it (hope not)

Wait - so did Carol crash the car? Was that Jerry with the gun to his head? How did Rick magically get to Alexandria and Carol magically get to the Kingdom? How did they get away from (I presume) The Saviours after the accident and just leave Jerry there?....

There was a flash of light to indicate the baddies had pulled off another perfectly timed t-bone manoeuvre with a vehicle.

Wibbs' post earlier perfectly sums up all that was wrong with this episode and the season as a whole (none of this half season shyte). Apart from poor writing and terrible direction I'll add the bizarre Terminator-synth soundtrack that was completely at odds with everything else. I have one hope and one hope only - that the glimpse of helicopter indicates the show is going to go in a completely direction. Otherwise it needs a machete in the head because it's like one of the walking dead itself now, shambling along on muscle memory alone.

Technically still alive but was bitten a couple episodes ago when he went to the woods to get the new guy.

So does this mean the first episode back will be a drawn out episode long death?
Not to be confused with the drawn out death of the series.

Edit: Didn't see there was a second page which is why replying to old message.
I do remember reading somewhere (don't know if it was for the comic or show) or maybe Rick said it that Carl is what he fights for and all he has to live for.

While not shown on screen I assume Carl got his love bite when bringing the guy back to Alexandria. At the time that was the most engaged I had been with the show all season, engaged as in shouting at the TV for the walkers to eat Carl. Then they give him that excuse for a send off. I would have enjoyed it much more if he was walker food. Distinctly lacking a sense of payoff for me, I can't fathom the choices they make. Gimple is a ****womble who loves cheap tricks and seems to enjoy screwing with the payoff especially. As in Glen fake out not fake out.

While the show itself irks me every week, boards.ie TWD threads get progressively funnier

I'm indifferent about Karl dying, hated the budding teenage romance storyline with Enid the last few seasons. Hopefully she willingly walks into a hoard of zombies when she finds out her one-eyes cowboy is dead. Two birds, one stone.

As someone said, we might see a farmer Rick return or hopefully the throat ripping psycho come out of those sewers. Michonne is this week's candidate for a nervous breakdown I see. She'll be recovered by episode 10.

I reckon they are going to go back to the Hilltop and they will all donate blood, the doctor will give Carl a transfusion and he'll be grand.

Not an outright terrible episode, but nowhere near good enough to be compelling either given how bad the season has been. As I've said before, this season is just totally bizarre - S7 was poor, but it was consistently poor. This season is all over the shop and feels like every episode was made completely independent of the other - narrative, scripting, acting, tone constantly leaping from A to Z.

The only thing I think we can hope for is that they wrap up this Negan/Saviors crap and the next season is actually a step forward of some sort in terms of the end game. Problem is most people just don't care anymore. Every character apart from Rick and Daryll are completely expendible but the show treats even minor characters like they're a huge deal.
