D&D Act One Scene III - Red Moon over Thurmunton

Day 1:

The adventurers leave the city of Soetrard behind them as they venture forth into the farmlands beyond the city gates. Here small local farmers work from dawn to dusk in the fields to feed Soetrard with all the grains, wheat and oats it needs to function on a daily basis.

The trip is mostly uneventful. Farmers waving at the party, small children pointing and laughing at the halflings and the odd farmer's daughter taken in by the handsome elf.

That night, with the full moon hanging high in the sky, approaching the fork where the roads to Thurmunton and Cantry separate, the horses stomp and look agitated.

Saeros and BandyLegs make out eleven figures in the shape of men shambling in the nearby trees, approaching the group slowly. The humans and halflings clearly can't see them yet. The heat from their bodies is low. Saeros makes the conclusion immediately, undead....zombies!!

Bandylegs and Betty head up the steps carefully to join Ekbard in the pearl room.

Bandylegs examines the pearl and the surrounding stones for traps.

Bandylegs nods at Ekbard.

'Aye. And I have the means to stop it. I think.'

Bandylegs pulls the fruit from his backpack and rubs it on his bastard sword. He does the same to Betty's hammer, then tosses the remaining few pieces to Ekbard.

Ekbard rubs the fruit over his long sword.

The pit floor collapses as slime from beneath smashes through it and forms a gigantic mouth. Saeros and Othegre fall into the maw which begins to chew them.

OOC: One damage now. More coming.

Othegre starts flailing and torching like a mad yoke.

Bandylegs eyes the pearl with great greed in his eyes.

'Betty, would you ever be a dear and smash the stone around the pearl with that large hammer?'

The slime is slowly pulling Othegre apart, but she can make out three rooms joined to the current one and she has the power to swim. One North, East and West.

As she goes to, Ekbard nicks it. The Nerosian strikes again.

The passage splits in two, one West, one South.

Not knowing what direction he went, Bandy and Betty go South. Bandylegs checks the passageway for traps

No traps found on the way. The corridor splits again, East/West.

Necro

Bandylegs looks to Betty.

'West served us well last time. Let's go west again.' He again searches for traps as they cautiously head West.

ekbard thinks to himself, probqbly should have went east.

Othegre looks back to ensure Saeros has made it out (he has....right?) Kisses her charm and activates the stone.

And for the record, she only thanked one god!

Bandylegs pulls 2 rations from his backpack, tosses one to Betty and eats the other himself.

OOC: Encumbrance back to 1 now as I used the vine.

Neither Bandy nor Ekbard find traps. They enter a room, with no slime and grey brick, but with slimy footprints that go through the room and into the back wall.

Bandylegs checks the back wall for hidden doors or anything else that might be there.
