D&D Act One Scene III - Red Moon over Thurmunton

Day 1:

The adventurers leave the city of Soetrard behind them as they venture forth into the farmlands beyond the city gates. Here small local farmers work from dawn to dusk in the fields to feed Soetrard with all the grains, wheat and oats it needs to function on a daily basis.

The trip is mostly uneventful. Farmers waving at the party, small children pointing and laughing at the halflings and the odd farmer's daughter taken in by the handsome elf.

That night, with the full moon hanging high in the sky, approaching the fork where the roads to Thurmunton and Cantry separate, the horses stomp and look agitated.

Saeros and BandyLegs make out eleven figures in the shape of men shambling in the nearby trees, approaching the group slowly. The humans and halflings clearly can't see them yet. The heat from their bodies is low. Saeros makes the conclusion immediately, undead....zombies!!

Necro

Bandylegs pauses for a moment. He touches the fruit tentatively and grabs one before throwing it into the slime to test what it will do.

Once the torch is lit, Othegre will use hers to light Betty's and then swing hers around trying to ascertain if they're still standing in slime

Bandylegs staggers into the room with the fruit and spies Othegre trying to light a torch.

'Give one to Betty, please. Let's light the path.'

Placing a fruit in her pack (too late, it's Canon now, I got away!) Othegre remembers her many torches and flint - she starts lighting one

I take a rope and grappling hook from my backpack and start heaving the hook back up out of the pit.

Bandylegs shouts loudly as he makes his way carefully along the corridor, Betty in tow.

'Ekbard, Othegre, light a flamin' torch!'

He beckons for Saeros to follow him

Bandylegs checks the West corridor for traps and heads south where he thinks he heard Ekbard calling from.

Bandylegs changes direction and wades back into the room before following Ekbard's path. He notices Saeros and pulls him through the West exit.

Ooc so is the slime flowing out the doors or are we out of the pit?

Ekbard finds a spring loaded crossbow mounted in the roof above the stairs and the displaced stone on the floor that triggers it. He can easily step around them.
