At the very end Kilmaley got a free on the 65, first off a Kanturk player stood on the ball and in front of the player taking it, then a mentor stood right behind him on the pitch shouting at him, if there was ever a clear cut bring the ball forward situation that was it, the whole thing took about a minute as well. In the end the free went wide and that was it.

This is a huge moment for the future of the big ball in the county. Clare football in 2017 is under-funded, under-resourced with a county board continues to ignore the plight of the club player and don't care about development and promotion of football in the county. But I conclude this by left feeling that clubs have had loads of opportunities to put forward their plight about whats wrong with Clare football and yet 2 things continue to occur. 1. County board don't listen and 2. clubs not playing hard-ball. Kilmurry Ibrickane have made their stand. C'mon clubs join the Quilty men and start the crusade against the county board to ensure that football clubs are being listened to for once and for all. Or else you can well say the obituary for Clare football has just begun.
