2 different cars not the same car. They probably bought it for engine/ecu swap and whatever parts they could save from it, it was most likely a reshell job.

Donor body would keep its original vin but you would not be able to sell it as m5, these are hoping to get m5 price so what they do is cut vin numbers from both shells and swap and weld. Sometimes the whole firewall gets cut out/drilled out depending on the type of a car as it can be welded back at original welding points and nobody would ever be able to notice it. But professionals can do it by cutting around vin number and blending new number in, no need to mess with entire firewall at all.
The most expensive thing here would be paint job if they cant source donor car in same colour, which might not be possible with cars like m5 as they sometimes come in special colours not available on ordinary 5s. But if they have resources and know how (and they do) they dont work from main stream prices anyway. My point being, yes they can straighten that body but nobody does that with so much damage as there is no economic viability, "other methods" are far cheaper and quicker, especially if chassis/rails get twisted.

You will see them for €5k on Irish plates - but it’s hard to gauge condition from ads. I don’t think it’s dreamer territory if the car is in very good nick. You’d see them for £5k Sterling in the uk.

It's a bit on the expensive side but not massively so and if the car is as good as it looks in the photos it might be worth going the extra money over less clean examples.

It's cool in a modded Jap import kind of way. Theres a few nice bits on it and it does look quite fresh but 3x overpriced imo though. €2500-€3k car.

Supercharger kit is about €2k alone

Few nice bits on it, Forged M3 Alloys, Porsche Brakes, Coil On Plug Kit, BC Coilovers Recaro Seats etc etc....

It definately was a no expense spared build.

Very niche car though!

Yeah that 318is used to belong to a good friend of mine that is meticulous with his cars and you probably won't find a cleaner one than that but it won't fetch that money, even with 45k miles though E36's are going for mad money.

I'd give him €500 for that 407 coupe and consider himself lucky. He will never shift that thing, over 15 years old so no insurance company will want to go near you with it, not to mention how mad you'd want to be to tax it..

I struggled to get €2k for a 406 coupe 6 years ago with the more desirable (with stupid road tax) 2.2 HDi so if he thinks he's getting €4k for one now he'll be waiting

Around €1k is the best he can hope for it and it takes someone who really wants one to fork out €1,800 per year to tax it!
