Official Conor McGregor thread (part 3) *Updated Warning in 1st Post Re:Boxing match
The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 4.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.

Any name-calling, trolling, baiting, or being a general ass-hat will earn you a ban from the thread and possibly the forum.

Any "Do you even train Bro?" or "I'm an mma fan longer than you" type posts are not permitted either. They only make you look like a fool and as a result, everyone hates you. Yes everyone.

Bobby hits harder than Bisping. Has a better chin. And is better offensive grappler.
I was quite impressed with how well Bisping handled GSP in his guard. Not only did he stop him passing he did damage from the bottom. I'd fancy Bobby to do more

I was well impressed with bisping.
He a tough motherF.
He has been practically ko’d In his last 4? Fights.
Even in this one he was finding his way back and defending well after been flattened.
Until the choke that is.
He was always a brilliant watch.

GSP said himself that Bisping stunned hiM a couple of time but GSP hide it, Whittaker hits way harder and is a way better wrestler,
Everyone could see GSP was starting to slow down , I think he'd be far better to move back down to Welter weight,

You could tell GSP was uncomfortable carrying the weight. The fight was going the other way but he managed to clip bisping with a nice shot and found the finish really well.

I reckon if he can get back to 170, he will. No guarantees though, he’s a big boy now

At 170 GSP was carrying some muscle mass which took effort to maintain.

155 is pretty far fetched (although he claimed personally he could do it) but I don't think a catchweight of 162/163 is crazy.

A non-title bout would have a 1lbs allowance which was not the case with the majority of his 170 fights. Therefore he would need to be 6-7lbs lighter than a weight he made many times. That's not crazy.

I'm not suggesting for a second he could make it right now.

If you don't pay the fine in 28 days, it gets increased, if you don't pay that within another 28 days, it's a court summons

Conor losing though creates a problem though, there's only so many times people will want to hear him say he only lost because the other guy was too big, it won't fly for Joe Duffy after losing to Vick

Why can't we just have fighters rule their own divisions and not have always have these talks of superfights? The only reason there was such intrigue in GSP v Silva or Jones v Silva is because those guys had cleared out the division and there wasn't many real contenders left

All these superfights just dilutes the real fights in divisions, like if Conor defends against Tony it's almost seen as the thing to do until the next superfight

It looks pretty good as it stands to be fair. Hard to see McGregor on that one now, it's getting too late, unless its already been agreed. Holm v Cyborg seems to be a more likely headliner.

Agreed it's a decent card, but I suppose being a Dec30th card I was hoping for a little more.

McGregor is presenting a lot of problems for the future of the UFC. I would say there could be a breakaway organisation if fighters don't defend their belts and instead go after novelty fights with no consequence if you lose. for instance, if McGregor beats Ferguson and then goes on to fight GSP, the whole lightweight card will get held up once again for the guts of a year. When McGregor leaves the UFC which may be sooner than we think, he might as well throw a match over his shoulder as he walks out the door the way it is panning out.
