How much would you pay for a dinner with which celebrity?

Similar, I suppose, but not quite identical, to the clichéd list of celebrities you would invite to dinner to appear intellectual - there's a charity auction ongoing at the moment for a one-on-one dinner with a "celebrity" whom I would be interested in having dinner.

She's fierce cute, plus she works in a similar field so one would hope that I would at least be able to hold some semblance of a conversation.
The bid is currently at about €200, and if it weren't guaranteed to go higher, I'd be tempted to put in a bid of about that amount - but I don't think I could possibly justify any more - not for her, and not for any musician, or politician, or actor, or author or whatever. I can't imagine those conversations would be even as rewarding - do I just repeatedly tell Leonard Cohen how much I liked his songs, etc? Try to steal some of Martin McDonagh's ideas and decide to write a play?

Anyway, I asked one of my colleagues, and she said she "wouldn't pay more than a few thousand for dinner with Tina Fey". While my colleague's wage must obviously be significantly higher than mine, I can't help but feel that one of us is crazy.

So, AH - how much would you pay to have dinner with which celebrity?

As much as I dislike the celebrity culture and think they are, for the most part, over paid whiners who at the end of the day are normal people like you and I- I would happily pay good money or chop off some toes in exchange for the chance to have dinner with Stevie Nicks.

Sorry be be a cliché but would pay a fair bit to have dinner with George Clooney - for his humanitarian work, his acting and (of course) his gorgeousness!! Also Bill Gates for the first reason.

When I have had dinner with a particular celebrity he usually pays when it's in the UK and I pay when it's in Ireland. I can't remember who paid when we were elsewhere but I don't think either of us did.

I hate talking during dinner, so i wouldn't care for that side of it.
I can't think of any celeb i'd like to talk to but plenty of women i'd like to look at - Jennifer Aniston has still got it, so i'd choose her, provided she doesn't wear a bra and doesn't mind me staring and drooling.
Or almost any Brazilian supermodel...i hear they only eat the shadow cast by food, so i'd get two dinners. ☺

I'd happily pay for a date with a selection of well endowed celebrity ladies if I thought my wit and charm would secure after-dinner activities. (in fact, this goes for practically any lady in the world, celebrity or not.. haha

).

... In real life, though, I don't get it. I'm a huge wrestling fan (well, was, anyway, for most of my life) and loved a wrestler called Kane. Bought lots of merchandise, loved the Kane character, enjoy the real life person's (Glenn Jacobs) attitude and find his approach to politics interesting.

However, I'd have no interest whatsoever in meeting him.

Do people think that if you have din-dins with a celeb that all of a sudden you're gonna be best mates, they'll be inviting you over for dinner each week and out for a game of bowling, will you be the godfather to their child etc?

Surely anything you want to ask someone famous has already been answered a thousand times online in the past and such? I don't get the appeal.

I would love a dinner with Robbie Williams. I know it sounds so shallow, but I've been a fan of his since I was 15, so I've grown up with him. I'm not a hollering screaming fan. I'm never at the front row of a concert, at the same time, I've never missed him in Dublin. I would love to talk to him, arrogant as he is, when I watch him, there's something else behind his chatter and I'd love to know what that is. That, and I'd love to sing strong with him...though I haven't a note in my head :pac:
