Sure I do my weekly shop in Donnybrook Fair, wouldn't be seen in these Lidl places.

But here's an odd one that's happened to me today that has left me puzzled. A potential supplier of mine followed me on twitter. Then went back through a bunch of tweets, which really don't have anything to do with what I do for a living (because I work in tech, but I tweet about sports and politics) and liked a bunch of them.

Now maybe this is only noticeable to people like me who rarely say anything of interest and so actually get notified when their tweets are liked, but is that not a bit strange? Is that how sales has gone these days? Or is this a rarity.

Unless you have a very friendly working relationship with him I would say that is very, very odd. How far back did he go? It might be okay if you guys chat about that sort of stuff regularly when you interact, but if not then....

Seems like a strange sales tactic, but they might be looking for conversation starters to make it easier for them to engage with you pre-sales pitch in the future. I wouldn't worry about it much.

It also sounds a bit like the LinkedIn recruiter spam tactic. Throw enough ****e around to get someones attention. Sounds pretty unprofessional anyway. I retract my previous statement and would avoid working with them.

It could be as innocent as something like he followed you and started browsing down through the tweets and found them interesting or amusing and just absentmindedly liked a bunch of them.

But knowing what I do about your opinions and humour I'd say he is much more likely looking to rusty trombone your ass.

Then that's odd. If he was trying to find things to engage with you on then he wouldn't be liking all the tweets, he'd just be reading them. And that kind of social media stalking is completely normal these days. But liking the tweets is that extra step that nobody does. Unless they're in their 60s and have no idea what the rules are.

Some CB Insights guy (who was new) endorsed every major skill I have on my LinkedIn profile after cold adding me. Not as weird as liking my back catalogue of tweets though.
