Galway wedding venues

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can provide some good suggestions for an alternative wedding venue in or around Galway. Can be outside of the city, etc.

I am looking for something a bit different from the usual hotel receptions – so perhaps some place like a restaurant that can accommodate a wedding reception would be excellent. Something outside of the norm would be great.

It's a wedding for around 80 -100 guests!

I posted here rather than in wedding forums just to see what ideas were out there from Galway people.

If there’s any suggestions or ideas it would be really really appreciated.

The Twelve in Barna has a lovely room, limited to max 110.

Rowing club, il vicollo, the black gate, the kitchen, ard bia, brigits garden, ross house... all wedding receptions I've been to lately.

Other places considered were de burgos, lisdonagh house

Second recommendations for the Twelve though. Poles apart. Have been to great events at the Clayton and Salthill hotel too - mind you new management in Salthill since

Hi,
How far outside Galway would you consider? Zetland House is fantastic, a country manor house overlooking the water, the church is a 2 minute walk.
Cashel House Hotel is nearby too, also gets great reviews.

Some of the top end restaurants may book the entire place for you I have heard, the one near the train station has hosted weddings

Someone I know had their wedding reception in the NUIG college bar. They actually did a superb job on it and was a lovely venue.

I was at a ceremony in the new theatre in college this summer, and it was fab. I can imagine the bar could have been gorgeous, on the water, big open room, loads of lovely places nearby for photos, no neighbours to consider...

There are so many interesting places to get married and throw a party. It's really just a matter of how much/little work, money, people you want to put into it.
