Looks like a dodgy Celtic away jersey. Keep in mind that's how it looks on a model who is in shape. It will be an eyesore on the average rugby fan.

I'd say if that was released as a training jersey it wouldn't get the same reaction. It's a decent enough jersey in some respects but as an alternate jersey for the national team it's woejus.

Alternative jerseys are a money racket

We won't be wearing it vs South Africa as there dark green too (we were our home jersey when we play them away). No colour clashes with any 6 nations teams or other major nations

Always stick to my polo shirts instead of jerseys and buy one every 2/3 years depending. You still lads wearing jerseys from the early 00's and the Aldi gear at games

We will be in this Jersey.

Last 2 times we have hosted the saffers we have worn the alternate strip

Is it really though? I mean, nobody is forced to buy any of them, let alone the alternative jerseys. And nobody is forced to buy every iteration of them either! The problem seems to be just that some people can't deal not having the latest shirt

It's not really a racket though?

There will always be a time that teams are required to wear differing strips because both their primary ones are the same.

And there are people who want to buy it because taste and desire are totally subjective.

No team forces their fans to buy anything.

I wont be buying this alternate strip, but I will probably buy the home one.

Now when teams start saying tickets only available with a purchase of such and such jersey or entry only permitted to those in whatever garb, it becomes a racket.

Right now it is a simple case of supply and demand

Also according to Irish Rugby on Facebook we will be wearing it against South Africa

Stockdale is a better player than Conway, he has all the goods. Don't know if he'll be picked in November but it is inevitable to happen soon, just too good not to be included.

With Kearney and Ringrose almost definitely out, and big injury clouds over Earls, Zebo and Payne, there's a lot of scope for younger guys to get some time.

I'd love to see Stockdale get a proper run against South Africa.

I would be disappointed if anyone chose Conway ahead of Stockdale. The bloke is going to get 50 caps. He needs to be involved now.

Based on what I've seen, Treadwell could be the next best lock after Toner and Hendo, I wouldn't be surprised to see him overtake Dillane in November.

Treadwell was quite quiet on the Summer Tour though. Ryan easily outshone him.
