I definitely remember an ad for it on donedeal a while back, couple of years maybe. I've seen it at a few shows around Dublin in the last while

I've often observed strangers getting a bit too personal with cars at shows (on a few occasions trying doors..not sure why exactly, but nevertheless..) so it doesn't surprise me that some owners choose to park and spectate!

The majority of the above are old cars in good condition rather than classic cars per se.

No auction today unkel - just a show.

Although afaik the cars inside are for sale. Didn't really look at many prices, there was a Mk4 (1999) Fiesta going for €5k though!

Generally there are lots and lots of dreamers there.
I didnt make the show this weekend, I was at the show there earlier in the year and the inside was filled with dreamers.

One of which was a custom wine/maroon/purple automatic Mk4 fiesta going for 5k!

I tend to agree, just because a car is old doesn't make it a classic.

All cars were desirable to someone at the time of manufacture. And clearly there are those who find these same cars desirable now.

Will a Dacia duster or a Kia ceed be classed as a classic in 20 years, I doubt it.
Where as a cooper s jcw or golf R probably will.

The old "what is a classic" debate again. Who cares, if you don't like what you see, just move along to the next car. We all have stuff we do/don't like, I've not much interest in Imprezas or Evos for example but I wouldn't begrudge them being at a show, because they are as much into their cars as I am into mine.

Once something is a classic to someone it should be allowed at the shows.
We see examples of what would be a repmobile 30 years ago now being a classic. Not everything has to be a v8 rolls royce in pristine condition pulled to the show on a trailer!

They were all desirable as someone chose to buy them. If it's old enough, it's a classic, irregardless of whether it was good, bad, or indifferent. They've all got their fans.

Besides.... anyone who manages to keep a near 40 year old Datsun Cherry on the road at all deserves a medal!! I remember putting my fist through the wheel arch into the engine compartment on ours when it was only about 8 or 9 years old as it crumbled away in a rusty heap - it was taken off the road by Nissan themselves because it was so dangerous!

The memories.... learned to drive in that car and had some great craic in it. That's why the most seemingly uninspiring cars can sometimes be the most interesting for individuals, due to the memories they bring back.
