as it says,

I normally do 39 but that's all I'm contracted for, but there are other I've worked with previously who would blast their hours through the roof.

I worked with a girl from Monaghan who would rack up 12+ hr days 6 days a week despite being on a salary, her contacted Hrs were 43 a week. She would drive to and from work in Dublin every day.

13 days per fortnight. Generally 60-70 hours per week. Once or twice a year will do 40 hour days. That's hard going. You'll be ready for the doss by the second night. Busy times 80-100 hours per week. Usually for a six week stretch.

I'm a teacher, I'm in front of students 20 hours a week but between class prep, corrections, meetings and paperwork I do about 50 hours a week. I also work (prep work) for a good part of my holidays.

No. That day starts around 6 on the first morning. Everything goes to sh1t and next thing you know it's the following morning and you have another days work to get through before you can get a break. Goes with the territory. No complaints. I signed up for it. I enjoy my job.

48-60hrs a week, depending on overtime, time and a half for over 48 hours. 12 hour shifts, leave home at 4.45am and get home around 7pm. High stress at times and 50% of the weekends through the year. I'm in my late 20s with no education past leaving cert and it's a job that looks good on my CV. Packing it in soon and heading to finally do a degree.

I'm tired.

It's usually at least 48 or so. Probably 52ish most weeks and then occasionally can hit 60. Most of the time I won't clock in or clock out at the time I'm actually there, and will only clock in for 42 or so hours to avoid questions about how long I'm working.

Paid for 39 hours, reality is more like 55, with the extra not paid. Plus every alternate week I get to do an overnight on call (16 hours)which is not paid and after which I get no time off, just back into work as normal the next day. However, there's some flexibility so that if things are quiet i can duck off early without anyone really questioning it. Overall I think I still end up doing more than I'm contracted for but I'm happy enough given I have that bit of flexibility

It would want to be some amount of flexibility for doing nearly 2 days extra work a week.

Work 45 hours of which I'm paid for 39. Technically there's an hour lunch break (unpaid) a day, plus shorter tea breaks to be taken. Reality is that lunch is at desk, and bring tea to meetings. Add the three hour daily commute and it's just not worth it. (ie, 62.5 hr out of the house each week, with no energy to get up to much in the evenings).

Working my notice now, and job-hunting for something that will allow an actual quality of life.

Agree with previous posters. Why bother working so much, if you're too tired to enjoy life?

I understand not clocking all the hours. I am probably a fool, but I don't clock all my hours. I feel guilty how long it takes me to do certain tasks and I worry other people breeze through it much speedier

37.5 - very steady 9-5 and I rarely have to work late. Salaried and my commute is around 30 minutes each way.

It's a job, not a hobby.

If you don't value your own time and effort, why the hell would you expect anyone else too? Seriously, you should both stop doing this!

I probably clock about 40 hours a week, it used to be closer to 50 and I am so much happier and healthier since I reduced the long working hours. I will need to work the odd Saturday but I get time-in-lieu so it all evens out.
