This is one of the most active forums on Boards.ie. As a result, discussion can get quite heated. But there are certain things posters must realise are simply not OK to post:

Any views on the Club championship? Mitchells seem to have been motoring along all Summer with plenty of competitive challenges up and down the Country. It'll be hard to look passed them again.

Mitchels were well beaten at the weekend by Breaffy (10 points) . As well as missing the 4 mayo players they seem to have a lot of injuries, four or five other regulars were missing. If they can get everyone back they will be hard beat but I do fancy Breaffy and Knockmore to put it up to them at the business end of things.
Had forgotten about the U-21 championship, when will that be played or has it started?

Putting on an objective hat (something many Dubs fans are incapable of) I think there should have been some kind of limited punishment for some of the cynical stuff in the game otherwise it gives a thumbs up to allow it to continue. I don't think there will be any more throwing of gps units in games, but interfering with a goalie trying to take a short kickout could easily become the norm.

Agree something needs to be to cut off cynical stuff but GAA don't seen to having interest in taken action. 1. I would bring in sin bin and abolish black card 2.punish all cynical fouls with 21 metre free. Dublin were only doing what every winning team has been doing in last 5 years to close out a game. Mayo 2012 and Dublin 2013 brought cynical fouling to next level closing out games . Throw in 2014 Barry John Keane kicking ball off Paul Durcan tee. Kevin McLoughlin done same to Cluxton in league game around 2014. GAA don't care about that cynical stuff once Croke Park is full in August/September and there making money.

Exactly. IF Leroy had put Rock off I wouldn't be sorry for it. If Mayo players had been jumping all over the Dubs to stop them taking a quick kick-off I wouldn't complain.

But that said what they 2 lads did was unsporting behavior and should have been dealt with. The eye gouging is still inconclusive, while it looked like he did, only he and Boyle know the answer to that.

Agree a example should have been made of Keegan/Costello. I didn't think O'Gara gouged Boyle but did put his fist into his face which should have warranted some kind of a ban. If was league game in February he would have been banned. Think GAA need to have a serious look at cynical fouling as discipline/unsporting behaviour is a serious problem.

Have to wonder why the linesmen took such a back seat towards the end, havn't they read the rules? Clearly we are going to need 2 additional refs on each sideline and 2 tv refs for replays.

The Linesmen shall bring to the attention of the Referee, during a break in play, any instances of foul play, in particular rough or dangerous play, striking, hitting, or kicking, or unauthorised incursions onto the field of play, which have not been noticed by the Referee.

CCCC also looked at the incident involving O'Gara and Colm Boyle just before half-time where the Dublin's players hand came into clear contact with Boyle's face. But while slow-motion footage shows contact with the eye area the evidence was thought to be less conclusive in real time.

not really inconclusive unless you are already blind!

I dread to think how far it's going to go next year.

I think it's mad that the All-Ireland final has a different set of rules to the rest of the year, all in the name of "letting it flow". No matter what changes are made to the rules, this desire, which has a media campaign nearly every year, means that all the rules that are there for every other match, just don't apply. It's so frustrating.

With the trouble that they have matching cynical play to rules, perhaps they should introduce a kind of catch all rule, like "conduct unbecoming" or something like that. Probably won't catch anything on the day, but those three incidents do deserve some punishment.

Also, Andy Moran is a legend, loved that interview, very much a heart on the sleeve kind of thing. Earlier in the year I mentioned here that he should really be an impact sub, and then he goes and makes a total mockery of my opinion. Ah well.

They really should bring in a rule whereby a 21 yard free is awarded for that most cynical of black card offences trying to close out a game and prevent a score at any cost.

If Boyle felt he was gouged why has he, or Mayo GAA not come out & said it publicly? I don't think anyone would call it sour grapes or being a bad loser because the hand in the face is obvious. The fact it's all quiet says there wasn't much in it. Also if Boyle didn't do a Vaughan the incident wouldn't of happened anyway!

The sin bin was never really given a chance. Didn't even last to the end of that particular league camnpaign if I recall correctly.

From what I recall Micky Harte was at the vanguard of those opposing the sin bin.It seemed like a great idea at the time.It should definitely be introduced,a lot could be learned from the ladies.While you're at it,introduce a clock.Take it totally out of the control of the referee.We could learn a lot from our rugby bretheren.

I think that's their fear with the sin bin, they don't want to be seen as exactly copying rugby who have made so many great changes to bring the game forward

I don't think the sin bin should be brought back. There are more cards in a football match than in rugby. There would be a lot of players going on and coming off.

I would like to see the clock counting down like in the ladies game or stopping like in rugby. We've seen referees in the past blowing up games too soon and playing well into injury time.

I don't think they did but they made their views well known and never came on and gave it a chance.

Are any mayo players going? A very long tough year for Mayo and the international rules series is something the players could do without. Give the chance to players from other counties.

No great surprise with Aidan,he's partook previously both at home and in Oz.Perfectly suited to his game.

And there's a tenner charge to collect them, some may call that gouging but it's open to interpretation.
