...today I brought my daughter to the playground to meet Slovakian friends with their kids. Also met my cousin and his African partner and their little daughter. After that, I went to my Turkish Muslim barber and to her delight he produced a lollipop.

And I thought, she'll grow up experiencing diversity and cultures that I could only dream of when I was a child in white Catholic Ireland in the late '70s and '80s. And it felt good.

It was meant as derogatory of extreme right wing Catholics.

What exactly is your beef here? Are you trying to say Catholics are open to attack on boards and Muslims are not? If so, you be proved my point nicely. There are hundreds of threads on boards, this one included, where Muslims are portrayed as rapists.

There's this thing called the internet horse, it has all manner of useful information on it. It's where I read about the crisis in male sex drive in Japan. Humans are a needlessly cruel species. Some animals are too; wolves and primates especially. We commit crimes and atrocities for no logical reason. We can agree that a lot of these instances are fuelled by bigotry (race, religion etc.).

What we can also agree on is that as a species, we are incredibly young, only a few hundred thousand years old. I find it extremely hard to believe that we are purged from all of the inherent animalistic traits which got us here today. One of those traits is to be wary of the unknown be it a foreign tribe, a dark alley, someone knocking on your front door at 11.30 at night.

Thankfully the educated modern society we live in has alleviated most of these threats. That doesn't stop poorly educated gimps from maintaining these archaic stereotypes which have more than likely been passed down to them through generations. Racism didn't just appear out of thin air.

Regarding your two examples. Obesity is an easy one. What good is an immobile unhealthy overeater in an early civilised society? Not true today of course but that sigma is still present.

Being gay is natural so I don't know what the instinctual prejudice is there. I would liken homophobes to racists and put it down to not being educated.

Saying animals like Wolves and Lions etc are cruel is just utter nonsense. They are only doing what most of us do when we pop into Tesco to buy bacon or steaks or chicken or beef. We are such hypocrites, the majority of us eat meat in some form or another.

Majestic animals like Lions and Hyenas have to hunt for food, they have to eat meat in the wild in order to survive. Humans would have to do the exact same thing in such conditions in the wild, hunting for food, collecting water, eating meat just to survive. How you can call something so natural cruel is beyond me.

I never mentioned Lions. I specifically said wolves and primates as an example, chimpanzees to be even more specific. I'm not talking about the typical survival practices we all partake in, i.e. hunting or gathering our food.

They're coming here legally. I wouldn't fancy their chances setting up a shop if they weren't. I suspect many are German citizens. There are huge Turkish populations around Europe, especially Germany. Great kebabs in Berlin.
