For any kind of long term loan where you want 50 plus k you'll be needing land as collateral, barely got a loan through last week and had assets on hand in terms of stock/machinery/equipment three times the value of loan amount drew down, had to get a new lease done up for duration of loan and jump through alot of hoops....

Yes .

The milker tried to get unsecured loan at first but max loan was 60 k. He also owns lands about 20 miles away so he put that up against his loan and got 120 k.

The bank man said there no set limit to unsecured loans it be differant for everyone

I was late getting there and must missed the discussion on john s financial set up if it was spoken about.just had a glance through the handout and didnt see it either.my thoughts today is it would really suit a tillage conversion.operater would get a chance to get into a bit of scale and owner gets to maintain his sfp and access to dairy management knowledge without the risk of a startup

I'm looking for a spring for the gates in my parlour. Afaik, it's a spring off a ration feeder.

If anyone recognises what feeder so I can get a replacement?

Would this be any use to you?

I realise that yours is a dairy master pen and mine an ATL so there may be a size difference.

Spring is of a Pearson feeder I think, have a few of them and also old Cashmans lying around if you need them.

They look the same alright. They pull the latch of the gate closed when it shuts and I can't find a similar one anywhere. I have a stronger one on and the rope for opening the gate only lasts for 2 or 3 months at that side so I said I'd ask if anyone knew where a replacement could be found.

Oceans of grass here in South Wicklow so no more Fert will be spread,it would be a waste of money tbh here if you understand?
Back home after the break,2 cows calved on the day I'm back and looking at the grass situation,you'd really notice it compared to when I downed tools

There has been an awful lot of rain too by the looks of things,the drought is certainly over in this part of the southeast

Will spread 50 acres on milking block aswell and that's it for this year.

Great grass year. Will probably top out at 16t this year. 1.5t ahead of last year to date

On the automatic washers for the milking machine, if a unit isnt washing properly how do you know , if you are not there?. When I am powerwashing down, I always check the jars are being washed properly on my way down the parlour

I don't know ha, however it's never happened here in the 3 yrs I've had the new parlour, there are no clips or levers on any of the units to forget to open, you have to press the wash button on each unit to drop the acr rope and put on the washcups. It's another reason why jars are a compete pain in the hole now that I think about it ha.

Big heap of dung to spread in mid October and that's it

Ah sure you can have a computerised washer and acrs and still keep your jars!

At least that's what I'm counting on.
