This is one of the most active forums on Boards.ie. As a result, discussion can get quite heated. But there are certain things posters must realise are simply not OK to post:

- Personal abuse

- Rumours about players'/managers'/anyone's personal lives.

- Trolling.

- Accusations of trolling. Report a post if you suspect it to be trolling.

Many a good manager has failed to stop it seeping in .

I wonder do the players think they have it in the bag already. Playing poor ol' Mayo and all that.

I read before that in 2012 Donegal players went for a few pints the week of the All Ireland, because it was Mayo.

It has been known for some players to get carried away but I suppose sometimes it used as an excuse for losing teams as well .

I seriously doubt that Dublin are taking Mayo for granted. These guys are long enough on the road to know better.

Not a chance in hell are Dublin taking Mayo lightly at all, this will be the 5th championship encounter in only 2 years between them, with the kick of a ball after a replay separating them last year and a late flurry seeing Dublin over the line in the 2015 replay.

If Mayo are good enough on the day they'll beat Dublin, and it will have nothing to do with Dublin taking them for granted.

Immediately after the Tyrone game we heard Cian O'Sullivan, Jack McCaffrey and Jim Gavin talk about areas where we need improving to be right for the final, that's not the thinking of a team seeing the opposition as a soft touch!

Anybody know if Martin Carney will be commentating for Mid West or rte, I'd love to hear him in full flow for the last few minutes, even better if Mid West have a camera on the two boys

He can't do it for Rte as he has to be "kind of" impartial, but on Mid West he can really let go...

Jim Gavin had about 4 mins with Off The Ball at the start of the week. Don't think it's on any podcast but the video is up on their FBook page (yesterday).

Didn't say much. Lots of process.
He was wearing a nice suit.

That's great news. I was in Eyre Square last Sunday with the kids watching the hurling and there was a great atmosphere. Great for families who aren't going to Croker.

Not knocking the thread or the posters but I have to say (and I've always found it this way), that this thread is least enjoyable in the week or two before the All Ireland final. I think it's the repetitive nature of it, maybe it's just the dying wait for the game to happen or just the nerves about it. I always find it more enjoyable throughout the season. I found last year similar and remember thinking the same in 2012 and 2013 and found myself posting less and looking less at the thread before the final.

I think it's because we've heard everything already and everything has already been analysed and talked about to the max, that I just want the event to happen and the talking to stop haha.

We had the same record in finals give or take in the hurling.
We had that history that burdened us. We lost one of our legends which could have added a weight. It didn't, take your history, think of your legends and when it's in the mix the next day, let Aidan or Cillian or Andy or whoever repeat David Burkes words - not again, we're not letting this happen again. Go and ****in win it by whatever means possible.
