So when are you to old for a computer console PS4 , x-box or whatever ?
Iv been recently thinking of buying myself a ps4 its been years since iv owned a console maybe 10 years, I'm 35 now am I to old ? I think i'm going to get one regardless but id love to know what the good folks of after hours think on the matter,
I know you can do what you like but do people stop playing as they age ?
Is there an age cut off or do the folks on here still play into there 30's and 40's and when they have kids ?

I've a PS3 that I rarely turn on anymore, but if I had time I'd be playing and probably upgrade to the PS4.

My boy recently got an XBox so I've been enjoying playing that a bit now, but again, rarely have the time.

I'm 32 and have recently gone back playing with my SNES, which I got at the age of 8! You're never too old.

Although if you don't like getting the bollocks bet off you by a 10 year old at FIFA, maybe buy a set of Golf clubs instead.

Each to their own but personally i see it the same way as watching movies...as you get older your taste in movies may change , and you might just watch one on the tv every now and then instead of hitting the cinema every weekend but I dont think anyone is too old to watch movies...and i dont think anyone's ever too old to game.

I'm roughly the same age. I have always had something on the go. They don't tend to get much use during the summer when fishing is king. Once it gets too cold the headphones go on and it's all systems go.

I have no kids or anything though so it's either that or sit around listening to my mot watching endless Karadashians.

There is no age cut off, I dont own one myself anymore and haven't for years.

I do however think it is pretty pathetic when men / woman past there teenage years completely immerse themselves in the online video game world, spending hours upon hours playing games with online "friends" and ignoring there real lives.

Everything in moderation though, just not my cup of tea.

Well its the same as sitting on front of the TV for hours upon hours watching reality bullcrap. The only difference is Video Games are interactive and actually help your brain instead of destroying it

Nearly 40 and I'd play maybe 5-10 hours a week if I get the chance. I couldn't give two figs if people think I'm too old to play. I enjoy it and I find it a great way to unwind. Some cracking games out there and if you're getting back into gaming after a lengthy break, you'll be bowled over by the PS4 or XboxOne.

I don't play multiplayer games as it doesn't appeal to me but I'm not going to call people pathetic for doing it. Considering a lot of people's 'real lives' involves them just sitting on their arses, binge watching shíte on TV while scrolling through their facebook feed on the phone glued to their hands. If they enjoy playing with their online friends, leave them off.

No age limit. If anything the gaming industry has overtaken movies as a source of entertainment.

I regularly play games with my mates, we all live in different places now so it's a good way to keep in touch and show the younger wans how it's done.

But what is "too much"?
I live a healthy life, but I'll happily spend 5-6 hours after work, a few days a week, in training mode for Tekken, or practicing my aim in Overwatch.

Im 42,have a ps4 pro,and recently bought a gaming laptop for Pubg among other games..

Id play a few times a week for an hour or 2 at time. No intention of giving it up at all..

I think the only pathetic thing is judging how other people spend their spare time..

Of course not. Nobody said anything about friends. Being social doesn't mean everyone you talk to are your friends.

I enjoy gaming because it's like watching a movie or reading a book except I have control of the character. It's a really nice way for me to unwind for a few hours every few evenings. I can shut my brain off from work and all the other stresses in my life.

Personally, I can think of nothing worse than spending an evening cycling- I think it's super boring but I would never call anyone who enjoys it "pathetic" for enjoying it. Likewise folks who like to spend the evening talking ****e in a pub. Each to their own.

Well its a normal as sitting vegging out on front of the TV. There is a major social setting in todays gaming that wasnt there 10 years ago. You can game with real life friends and total strangers who can become friends.
