Was this a big, stupid thing to do?

Hi,
Came home with the kids & 1 used nappy. I was out the front throwing the sliothar with my son for a while. On my way back to our house I threw the nappy over the house into the back garden. Or tried to; it didn't make it over, but I rolled down & and got stuck (not in public view).

My wife had a massive go at me, sayinhbjts totally immature, stupid, ridiculous, unbelievable thing to do. I said it's was a bit stupid, but no big deal. I I was throwing a sliothar so just tried to throw the nappy over.

Having a used nappy stuck on the top of your house would create a certain perception about you I think. Being "those people with the nappy stuck on the house" isn't really who you want to be. It was just luck really it's not sitting in your front guttering I imagine.

I can totally see that your wife would be incredulous at you doing something like that. There's a reason people don't use used nappies as sports balls.

Nappies are absorbent, and they swell. If it hasn't already slid down the roof into a gutter, it will be washed down into the gutter with the next shower, and then there's an even chance that it will block a gutter or downpipe.

You need to get a ladder, OP, and go up and remove the nappy.

And, remember, if God had intended us to throw nappies over the house, He would not have created the nappy bin.

OP you remind me of the time my friend came home drunk from the and couldn't remember his alarm code or find his wife.
His solution was to lean out his upstairs window with a hurley and beat the bell box off his house.
Neighbours called the Gardai who arrived as his wife arrived home from work.
He spent two nights in the couch while negotiating his terms of residency.

You'll never go pro with that sort of form, I suggest you take the wife and kids on holiday and maybe do some yoga classes or try some meditation, sounds like you need to clear your head anyway.

When you start back again I suggest practicing with smaller obstacles first, have you a garden shed that you could practice throwing the nappy over first? The talent is there but the head is not, it can make or break a man. I would also maybe try setting a goal for yourself, say get 5 nappies over the roof by the end of the week.

I wish you the best of luck in your journey, keep your chin up and never stop believing in yourself!
