They have wasted a lot of time, listeners and money on promoting the other shows after the shakeup when Ivan left the first time. They know that Yates and Donoghue work well together, in a sort of Laurel And Hardy sort of way. Why not just keep Donoghue where is he and bring Ivan in with him?

It's like you've got Ray D'Arcy and made him facetious, sarcastic, more liberal and more cynical. That jocose tone that he delivers every one of his smart ar$e remarks drives me mad. I really wish Newstalk would just get rid of him permanently, instead of poisoning all of their other shows by using him as a stand in.

I don't know why NT didn't pair them up again; but perhaps neither one of them wanted to team-up again. I basically have stopped listening to Drive until Ivan comes back.

Or Ray Darcy? I should ask Newstalk or RTE for an interview and just try and be the most annoying person ever. Ruprecht from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels maybe. I'd probably get a prime time show for just making retard noises into the microphone. Why am I thinking about all this while on holiday?? Argh!!

The presenters were equally bad and got equal treatment. You can't claim that you want equality, and then complain when it is dished out in equal measures.

'Insufferable fool' 'feminist' as an insult I wonder when Paul Williams was described as fine looking but headwrecking when his radio credentials were assessed. I could go back and find more examples in this and morning thread but don't be me about equal treatment. Cris was fired too and there is way less criticism of him and it's a lot less personal.

The amount of hatred in a lot of posts here is quite disturbing. Think it's indicative of people's inability to accept that their opinion is not correct and yet they go to town on presenters for seemingly doing the same thing, in their view. Am genuinely curious why in most entertainment threads on Boards such as this one, OTB, Liveline, Late Late, etc, 90% of posts seem to be about how bad everything is. If it's that bad, why are you still listening/watching? In today's world, you can watch/listen to your preferred shows be they from the UK, US or elsewhere without difficulty or expense. Going out of the way constantly to be offensive and vitriolic says more about the poster than it does the topic in my view.
