Garda Trainee November 2017 intake

Might as well fire this one up, I think it's safe to say most of the August invites have been released to most people. Congrats if you got one! (Don't take my word for it, there does be ad-hoc invites sent out!).

So the journey continues on for the others like myself.

Hopefully it's November for us. I will pop the FAQ in this post once I get the chance.

So let's continue as the August one might get taken over by the guys with intake related questions!

Again this is mostly speculation on my part, but it's based on having too much time on my hands and going though previous offer dates and start dates etc.

I'm fully expecting the week of the 18th to be the date that the offers go out but wouldn't be surprised if they went out on the week of the 11th after hearing the dates that the induction weeks are planned for.

Still here, Jan 2016 Campaign. early 1000 oom. vetting has been signed off. Crossing everything for offer for November.

I'm in the same situation with only a slightly lower oom and from my rough ''calculations'' I'm highly expecting a call for November (Although I'm well aware there's no guarantees)

Older campaigns are offered first.

All depends on your oom and if your file is complete and ready to go whilst others may be waiting for vetting etc.

I seen one individual who had a oom of+500 from the sept 16 campaign enter templemore in august simply because their file was ready before others.

I presume those from previous campaigns take priority over newer campaigns in terms of oom?? I am from the current most recent campaign, if succesful I presume we wouldnt be sent to templemore until November 18 / January 29??

I assume the reasoning for having the induction weeks a week earlier than when they're usually scheduled is due to the halloween bank holiday.

So going by that my logic would be that it would be very possible that offers may actually start going out on the week starting 11th september in order to give a month's notice for starting.

As far as I know it's 6 months on a UK request.

Yeah I'm from that campaign (assuming it's the same campaign as December 2015) and still waiting. Don't even remember my oom at this stage but think it's around the 400 mark. Everything done just waiting on the sign off! It's a long oul wait isn't it?! If I didn't have patience before I certainly have been taught it!

Does anybody know what the new recruits would be paying into a pension from there wages?

with the starting figure at 28,405 upon attestation im trying to work out the weekly figure,

I know ppl pay 29euro approx single for medical aid,

What would they pay weekly to a pension? Im clueless to pension payments myself

28405 would be 465weekly in a normal job outside of AGS, after medical aid and pension would we be looking at 400 a week?

very interesting indeed, but i'd take that with a pinch of salt

Some of these anecdotal stories are often a game of chinese whispers where things get miscommunicated.

All offers for starting in Templemore are given through email so if true there must be something very unique about that person, possibly a deferral from a previous intake or something would be my best guess.

By start date in october that's probably a miscommunication as one of the induction weeks will be in october so it's still the November intake that's being referenced (Not an additional intake in october)

The brother is a guard he told me today that a lad up where he is stationed got a letter on Tuesday just home inviting him to temple more to start in October. Has anyone heard of anymore being offered in October?
