It isn't a turbo just a straight 2.4. And if I remember it's around the 170 brake?

2.5 with turbo is 230 bhp.

Wow! Would love to know what caused that. I'd a similar experience with a Mk2 Mondeo many years ago, but it decided to start burning while I was driving it (to the beach as it happens). It was caused by a faulty aircon switch of all things (I'd spent several weeks ignoring the burning smell every time I turned on the aircon). My then-girlfriend (now wife) was in the car with me, and it engendered a lifelong aversion to Fords in her. She won't even travel in a Ford taxi

Yep it's petrol. So I know it's never going to be worth much in Ireland but compare it to the 1.8 petrol and you get a healthy 45bhp increase for your extra few hundred quid, a lovely 5 pot noise and a very reliable unit.

If it was the diesel it would probably have sold by now but that 1.8 is not a nice engine.
