AFAIK Witcher 2 isn't as bad. (Got it free on GOG but had already finished Wither 3 so haven't played it.)

1st Witcher is great. Definitely wouldn't say avoid it. It's better than 2 which never allows you to prepare for some of the main fights.

I took a few runs at Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 before I got into either of them.

They improved 2 with the official combat rebalance but you need to get accostomed to both games' foibles.

As an RPG I think the Witcher 1 is actually excellent. I think it'd be worth turning down the difficulty and just powering through it for the sake of the story.
Once you get to Vizima it improves a lot. It has a poor first act.

It's rough around the edges but still has plenty to recommend it.

Having replayed 2 recently I've come right around to it (with the balance patch). It's, IMO, an absolute masterpiece. In some ways it's just as good as W3, albeit with a narrower scope.

And it's still absolutely gorgeous. In some respects the world seems more alive and more vibrant than 3, which goes for a grittier, greyer palette.

Recently finished the Witcher 1 after the 6th time of asking - various reasons for never finishing it in the past including corrupt saves etc.

Started number two recently and got to the village but then we had a baby in real life.

I preferred TW2 to 3. Haven't played the first one but I must get around to it. Is the swamp not act 2?

I think the swamp is in act 2 if my memory serves me.

Recently started playing The Long Dark again on Steam. I bought it when alpha was released about 3 years ago but hadn't touched it since. From what I can remember of it, it's come along nicely. I don't have any long term goals for it at the moment, just enjoying trying to survive. Furthest I've gotten so far is 3 days, I might give it a proper go and attempt a long one.

Actually **** it yeah, the swamps not great either.

You end up having to do a bit of planning to try and do all the quests in the swamp in one go.

Still, it's fairly good.

You won't miss much, truth be told, if you want to dive into W2.
The imported saves make little enough difference. You can carry over the top end armour from the witcher as well as 2 swords although it might be more fun to not do that and have to craft your own.
Definitely play W2 though.

Witcher 3 is really good but IMO the first two parts of the game are the worst and it takes a while to get into. I thought the game got a lot better after the Bloody Baron quest line.

I would have expect TW to be horrible to play on consoles. Controlling the map, selecting units, etc, sounds tortuous without a mouse. Why would you do that to yourself?!

I'm more or less finished with Dirt 4, I got a bit annoyed with the difficulty curve, featuring constant wet/snow/fog/night races and I think the opponents got better too. All on the same difficulty in the menu.
I might go back to dirt rally for the comparison and then on to dirt 4 randomly generated stages.

For now I've moved on to Arkham Knight, it's taken me a while getting used to how slow batman walks in comparison to how quickly you can move in Just Cause 3. Getting into it anyway, 3 hours played this evening. I think the graphics are great. Kinda wish the ports of the older games to UE4 had made it to PC.

Not proud of this, but one evening after browsing reddit I got nostalgic... it was a runescape thing.
So here is me, 31 and subbed to runescape for the last month. Got my old 14+ years old account going.

Sad thing is I am really enjoying it. It still has a good sense of rpg and progression. It wow you get level cap and you are done, its all about gear. In RS skill level cap is very high, which is very rewarding when you achieve milestone. Yes its grindy game, but I like it.

So there you go, you cam start laughing at me.

I like it, makes you want too use tactics and try and flank too get around the enemy sides, some pathfinding issues and weird voice over accents but other than that I'm enjoying it, first rts I've enjoyed since Coh.

Signed up to Origin Access since Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 popped up on it and playing Unravel. Nearly finished and really enjoying. Im a sucker for these kind of beautiful, puzzle type games...

28 hours and finished Batman: Arkham Knight more or less. I'm googling to see how

many most wanted cases I have to do to get knightfall. I count I've done 6 but it's telling me I need to do 4 more.. wtf. I read 7 is what you need for the basic ending

I did do quite a few side missions and I can't really be bothered doing that much more.
