With regards to the senior men. I wouldn't fear Galway based on yesterdays performance, but having said that they do have more in the tank it would seem. Still think we'll beat them in the final if we perform like we are currently performing

No point worrying about Galway. We're not playing them. Waterford is the only thing to be focusing on now. I hope the long layoff hasn't taken the edge off the team. It took Galway a while to get going yesterday. Fingers crossed Cork can pick up where they left off the last day.

Don't mind that kind of humble kind of talk. Let the players worry about Waterford. As supporters, and especially from cork, we can be as borderline arrogant as we like. We've beaten waterford this year and based on our performances and attitude so far there's nothing to suggest we wont beat them again if we play as we have played. Do you think there was something Waterford could've done last time that they didn't do, to beat us? The team is playing well, the feel good factor is there, why cant we look towards a final? We've been waiting long enough for this.

I was in Croke Park the last time we were in a semi final after winning a munster final when we never showed up and got blown away. You'll forgive me if I'll hold off on the all Ireland plans just yet.

Cork have a history of losing 'sure bet' semi finals. To name a few famous ones, 75 & 79 vs Galway (would have been 5-in-a-row AIs!), 2000 vs Offaly. We were very fancied in those, and you're also taking Waterford for granted which is an extremely shortsighted view imo. They've just beaten KK for the first time in decades - they will have the belief that they're AI contenders now.

I hope you'll be in Croker roaring on the Rebels on Sunday. Hopefully Cork speed & skill can defeat puke sweeper hurling

Gotta love cork! Waterford didn't turn up the last day vs cork . Our free taker was completely off form - 1/6 i think it was. We can definitely improve from the last day and i think the result will be closer than 5 points .

Waterford could have scored some of their frees for one.

Yes but it usually evolves to a more succesfull variation, like the afore mentioned Cork, like the Dublin footballers and the Norther teams before them, I have yet to see any success for the so called sweeper - a term that actually bugs me because that's not actually what it is at all!

I see where you are coming from re. the victim and the motivation, chip on the shoulder etc. - they will be like men possessed coming out of that dressing room.

But on the flip side Waterford's game plan and set up depends so much on De Burca that he is a massive loss, he is the best at what he does and tbh I would say if Cork could pick one Waterford player to miss the game it would be De Burca which is testament to how good he important he is to Waterford considering they have the current HOTY and the best midfielder in the country.

Ok here I go with my armchair analysis of the coming game as things are quiet here!!

This is the fourth Championship game that we have named the same team. Very consistent and this team will get better and better for it.Waterford have De Burca out and he is one of their best players.

I think we will have too much for Waterford and win by a good few points.Not going to be easy at all but I think there is still a lot more to get out of this team.

Waterford were very lucky to be going in level with us at half time in the Munster game. We should have been further ahead and maybe had a goal or 2. I think they missed a few frees but other than that I think they were playing at their optimum. They rely on being ahead and hope to get over the line with their system. I don't think it is good for coming from behind so if we get on top of them early we will push on.

If they go a few points ahead early, then it will turn into a dogfight. That will suit them as they are built to hold a lead. I think this system cannot win an All Ireland but hey they are in the semi final so maybe it can!

From the Waterford thread, they seem to think they have a lot more in them whereas I think it is Cork who have much more in them. I think if they play to their best and we play to our best then I see us winning. I am not saying hammering them but just a few points to spare.As I said I thought they were almost at full power other than those missed frees but we had a good few who were quiet like Kingston and Meade.They were both scoreless that day.If we get them contributing then I think we have too much.Cadogan only got one point and Harnedy only 2 points that day.

The problems arise if they are at full power and we are below par. Then it will get very dicey especially if we end up chasing the game late on. That would suit them and I think that's when their system is very good. It can really close out a game if the team is ahead. I still think it will be too hard to stop all the Cork forwards but that's assuming that they are all playing well!! This Cork team has really impressed me and I was coming from a place where I was hoping we would just be competitive at the start of the year! Now I see us getting to the final and winning it. We look very focused.

It has been a perfect buildup in a way as all the talk is about De Burca.We need to come out straight away and get a few points. They must be a bit disjointed/annoyed about De Burca. Rightly so as it seemed to take ages for the final decision to be made.

We still have to turn up and do our stuff no matter what. The good thing is that if Cork get beaten I would love to see either Galway or Waterford win!!

The minor game will be on TG4 and I am almost as interested in that game as the senior game. Some of our young players look very good indeed.

I think Waterford are a one trick pony, stop the opposing team is the game plan, not play to their own abilities, the kind of tactics that ruined football (not that it was ever great). If McGrath sticks to his usual stuff they may go a couple of points ahead but then it will be "what we have we hold" that's when our fast guys get to play and start knocking points over, and I put a bet on Kingston hitting the net. I can see Waterford forwards getting no ball from their back line and midfield will be lost to them with the defense mentality, Gleeson could see an early shower...it will be frustrating for him. Cork to win by 3-4 points, but I honestly can't see any of the two beating Galway, they may have the hurling but lack the physicality to match Galway.

Very big Cork crowd in Dublin . Minors have settled well and are 0-07v 0-02 up after 15 dublin seem happy to foul a lot.
