This nonsense than Mcgregor is training harder than he ever has is just that, nonsense. You aren't going to train like that when you have absolutely no chance at all. Anyone who knows anything about boxing knows this. The whole Paulie thing is just a publicity stunt, the sparring is probably a joke. A professional boxer is never going to get beat up by a person who has never boxed a professional bout in his life. It's beyond a joke at how many people actually believe this nonsense. I agree with what you say . However its becoming obvious that he brought Paulie in to try beat him up and make an example of him . Paulie is now calling his bluff to release the footage

He seems to be missing the fundamentals of it, and thats probably because you don't need them too much in MMA. Time will tell but if he is even half as bad as this in a few weeks, its easy work for Mayweather.

Just to level the playing field a bit. :P Maybe they can try something like that for the re-match... it could be a new combat sport! For the trilogy, you could have Conor plus half a dozen stripper b!tches throwing dollar bills in his face to distract him.... every time Floyd mistakenly clocks one of the strippers, Conor automatically wins the round!! Tbh, I would pay to see that...
Sweet Science wrote: » It wasnt edited . It was full footage of a round or 2 . Paulies all adds to the show but releasing edited footage of Van Heerden when the guy was only helping him was out of order
Mellor wrote: » If the video about is all that was posted. It's not 2 mins, out of however long they sparred. My understanding was Van Heerden chose this section as a reply Conor. Which makes it edited. That's the point I was making. Maybe it's the extent of the footage he had, I doubt it though. Van Heerden is still banging on about it, so he's getting his mileage out of the spar anyway.

While he's no doubt improved the reason this is out there is because he chose to make himself out to be a boxer and that he was getting the better of Van Heerden, which he clearly wasn't and didn't look like he had any of the skills necessary to get the better of him either.

Mellor wrote: » Where are you getting the idea that I'm arguing of those points? Reading comprehension FTW. In saying full, unedited footage of that session was never released. Just like the Paulie footage won't be imo. I think he was preparing for an MMA fight at that time. This generated some columns inches at the time. Van Heerden seems happy enough with the publicity too. he reposted it the other day. No such thing as bad publicity as they say.

ThinkProgress wrote: » I think I'm right in saying, that Van Heerden was eying up a potential fight with Conor after that sparring session... so that probably tells it's own story, in a way! I bet there are plenty of top pros out there, who would love to be in Floyd's position right now... training for a glorified sparring session with a novice boxer. Not every day you get a chance to make free money, in this game.
