He put 185lbs+ Nate Diaz down 3 times. Nobody had ever done that to Diaz (down once in his career from a head kick, never KOd) - Lack of power isn't one of Conor's problems in this fight.

It was then argued that it mightn't transfer across to a Boxing match. This makes no sense. We have Pauline saying that the power was respectable - that was in boxing sparring.
normanoffside wrote: » The point is fairly simple. Imam is a professional boxer. He is a bigger puncher than Conor and is more skilled at boxing. No one would give him a hope in hell against Floyd and if a fight with him were made it would be called a farce. McGregor has much less chance than him against Floyd and has less of a 'punchers chance'

He normally boxes on instinct, muscle memory, experience. But against McGregor he will have to consciously THINK during the first few rounds. This will slow down his reflexes, both defensively and offensively.

Conor then has an advantage: he is fighting a style and at a distance that he has mastered. He will be better than Floyd and coming in, landing, and getting back out of reach. If the above is true, Conor lands a few good blows. And the respectable power combined with (and more importantly) McGregor's precision from such distances results in The Best Ever getting dropped. He may get back up. But it will hurt enough that he never gets to "figure out" McGregor's timing/style. He will get dropped again, and this time won't get up before the count is over. Doubt him then.
