In one of the clips Conlon failed to rise the ball twice - the first attempt under little pressure. In another clip Cian Dillion had the ball in hand but somehow managed to lose ball and hurley as Tipp turned it over. Both resulted in points points conceded. Kelly was disappointing but we were riddled with mistakes all over the pitch in that game. If I recall correctly, Conlon hit one or two unforgivable wides for an inter county player.

Canning was poor in the first half yesterday but the rest of the Galway side stepped up and kept them in it. They didn't hit stupid wides and they're keeper didn't pick out Tipp players for 3 or 4 puck outs before half time either.

Clareman wrote: » How is it unfair? Kelly was captain last year, hurler of the year 4 years ago and was named as our key player almost everytime he was mentioned, unfortunately he just didn't produce a decent performance after the AI Club Semi final, his wides in particular at the end of the game against Tipp were terrible.
deaddonkey15 wrote: » It wasn't just Kelly that let us down this year. A lot of the praise for Galway earlier in the year was about how potent their forwards were and how they were all chipping in with many scores and not just relying on Canning. We don't have many forwards who step up and make big contributions to the side. The Galway side is full of absolute monsters as well that are able to win ball.
funnyname wrote: » Ah now that's totally unfair, Canning has been out of sorts manys a year. He hasn't been a total superstar since he burst onto the scene. Kelly will rise again

Clareman wrote: » Watching the Tipp Galway match summed up what's wrong with Clare hurling, at the end of the match Galway's "go to" player, who had a poor game and missed some very scoreable frees, stood up and scored some great scores, unfortunately Tony Kelly wasn't up to that level this year.
