Even if you are hamming something up and acting a bit, you are still voluntarily behaving. For me it mostly comes across as cringe and embarrassing behaviour.

He keeps coming back to MMA reasons for McGregor having a chance. Also said that it took Lomachenko rounds to figure out TJ Dillashaw. Loma toyed with him, was barely tapping him and landed at will.

I actually think this fight will stink and be boring, the excitement and build up will be worth it but after that I honestly think the fight itself will a bit tame. If Conor stands as a boxer to him, he won't have a hope, if he goes awkward then it will be interesting for a few rounds maybe. Unfortunately he is up against Mayweather, and for all the confidence that McGregor has, you can multiply it for Mayweather. Don't be surprised to fall asleep during this.

Agree with most of this. The build up will be more interesting. The fight will struggle to live up to it. There's no way Conor can beat him as a tradoptional boxer, an unorthodox approach allows him some sort of early Hail Mary window. When it closes, it's closed for the night. Kinda glad I don't have to stay up all night to catch it though. Can see it being underwhelming.

Outlaw Pete wrote: » I reasoned this and described how that could be achieved. Why are you ignoring it? Again: Hatton was far too 'gung-ho'. He almost knocked himself out at one point. I believe Conor should wait for Mayweather to bring the fight to him, perhaps even run from him Floyd a bit early on, fight defensively (play Floyd at his own game) mixed with some counter punching but nothing which would mean that he would have to get too close Floyd. The pressure is on Mayweather in this fight and I think he will be will be more offensive here than we have seen him in any fight before. If McGregor stands back and isn't offensive to begin with then I think that will make Mayweather think McGregor doesn't have all that much to offer and walk him down.......... THEN I think Conor should unleash like Hatton. I think this kind of awkward mix will frustrate Floyd as he won't know what McGregor will do next and we know that is one area which Floyd has exploited down the years, his ability to read what fighters are gonna do next. Worth remembering also that Hatton only had a 65" reach whereas McGregor's is 74". So even if McGregor does try and do what Hatton did (in gung ho fashion) he would be far better equipped given that he wouldn't have to get anywhere near as close as Hatton did to do so.
Maravilla33 wrote: » I'm confused. So he needs to fight like Hatton, but not too much like him..........
...and throw in some counter punching (very unlike Hatton)
...and it will all knit together because he's miles bigger than Hatton anyway?
The same Hatton that was dominated by Mayweather despite being a) a boxer and b) a great pressure fighter.
McGregor's footwork is going to be all over the shop and he's going to look clumsy here. Say what you want about Hatton but he was a decent pressure fighter and was able to cut of the ring far better than McGregor ever will.

Boxing: Floyd is faster/stronger/cleverer/tougher/harder hitting/more athletic/more resourceful/fitter and every other adjective you can think of....

McGregor needs to fight defensively and at the same stage get Mayweather out of there inside 3 round s.

Outlaw Pete wrote: » I gave the fight prediction many times. He wins by TKO in the first three or he gets a boxing clinic if it goes past that stage. I'm not pissed. Well, not yet. Might be later. Few drinks watching the presser, maybe a curry. I know. Said the same all along. Glad we agree on something. Aye, which is why I think McGregor has only a "slim chance" of winning and that he needs to try and frustrate and confuse Floyd by fighting in an unpredictable way.
