I had to wait around for an hour in Enniscorthy today for an appointment so decided to sit down by the river opposite the Bus Stop. I was so sad to see the state of the place. The rubbish strewn around, the seats too dirty to sit on. Such a shame with it being such a pleasant spot to sit and have a sambo at lunchtime. Does the council not send cleaners down there?

LOL... you're missing the point. Have you ever been there when an artic tries to come around that bend? Its a very common occurrence.

Its a terrible spot for traffic, a terrible spot for large vehicles (many of which are forced to drive on the footpath to make the bend) and just to compound matters, a terrible place to be parking.

An improved traffic plan would have been easier.2 fellas standing at the old bridge being as useful as tits on a bull didn't help.Most traffic up Convent Road is local traffic so would it not have been easier send them through Moran Park? Any HGV's or other traffic use Island Road. Even sending cars through Coolnahorna or Solsborogh would help while works go on.
This work was flagged long ago,just look at how BAM do road closures while bypass works are ongoing,they give advanced warning for months in advance and signpost several alternative routes,no traffic chaos.

Queue was out to Bolgers,the old Dublin road was blocked,there was a queue coming out from town wanting to turn left only to join the back of the line to get back.
The company probably aren't to bothered if they get the job done,the council should ensure they have a plan in place or cough up for a few night shifts.

Atinas takeaway looks to be open again,there also seems to be work taking place in the former charity shop beside the credit union.

Also,engineers taking levels along Templeshannon,not sure if it's for the drainage upgrades or the long awaited redevelopment works.

They've been taking levels on the railway road bridge and railway bridge for several days.

Whose idea was it to close the toddler section of the playground during the busy summer months! Right when the hotel would have lots of families staying. I'm delighted to see the renovations but it's still not open and could have surely waited until the kids were back to school!

Why does it take so long is probably a better question. Must be a couple of months ago since they started it.

Your too right. I go down every couple of weeks as my youngest is too small for the other section but I wasn't sure when it started. It will be fab when it's done I just can't get over the timing of it.

So they couldn't start these rd works the last week in May when the Vocational College closed for summer holidays.

The last time it was done they didn't even put a proper sub surface layer down and the tar was literally laid on mud.
The road sank under the weight of vehicles and said mud just came to the surface,especially in wet weather
There's gonna be some craic when the schools reopen,the traffic is chronic during school term as it is,throw in roadworks and there'll be chaos.
