The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 3.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.

Unless McGregor goes on a huge downward slide of popularity he'll always be on during the US PPV times. This is the best money maker for him and the UFC. So if he ever fights in Russia it'll be in the early am Russian time.

Unless some Russian oil money is slid across the table to make up the difference.

But with a country the size/population of Russia would it not make sense to push it at their prime time to create an interest/market for a few big events then wean them into the late night shows??

Russians can't afford PPV's. It's a big market, but US PPV's are the UFC's bread and butter.

As said above the average Russian can't shell out $60 US to buy a PPV, never mind pay the huge price at the gate that comes with a McGregor fight.

Looking at it, it just makes no financial sense for the UFC/McGregor to put on a show there.

Apparently the reported cities are London, Toronto, New York, DC. L.A and Las Vegas in that order but that's not confirmed by Dana.

First one allegedly next Wednesday in London (again, not confirmed yet).

Kinda like the way they call the MLB final the 'World Series'. If it was a proper World Tour they'd do Berlin, Tokyo, Sydney, Rio, Beijing etc etc but obviously they can't be making them fly all over the shop like that, those flight times would be a killer.

Still, if those reported cities are accurate, there will be tons of Irish in almost every city. London will be packed with Irish, so will Toronto and NY. Then you'll have all the J1'ers on the west coast making the 2 hour drive to L.A. or the 7 hour road trip over to Vegas.

It'll be home advantage to Conor at every presser.

Maybe. Floyd has a pretty big ego though, and he'll be facing 90% pro-Conor crowds at almost every stop. I doubt Floyd's fans will turn out the way Conor's will.

It might just motivate Floyd more to treat this like a do-or-die fight. I don't think he was ever going to be complacent but if he was then this might light a fire under him, so it might not be a positive for Conor at all.

I'll just be glad something is happening shortly so I can avoid a 10-year-ban from Boards for debating the boxing fans :pac:

I'd say they'd have looked to police it better this time. Inviting questions from a drunken audience will always be a disaster.

Leaving out Dublin not unexpected - it's a press tour after all. London is the media centre, the UK a much bigger market,, Sky are showing the fight etc. Far easier to just go to London knowing the Irish press will be there anyway.

He managed the Hatton one ok turning up in his United jersey. I think he'd be fine.

Part of me thinks that Floyd is so thick he'd miss half the stuff being thrown at him anyway.
