Nestlé make powered baby formula milk and advertise it in third world countries. The power of western advertising mean that third world mothers believe that this formula milk will be better for their babies than breast milk. This is untrue, but using formula instead of breast milk wouldn't cause the death of a child. Tens of thousands of first world mothers, for hundreds of different reasons, don't breast feed their babies. They use formula. It doesn't kill their children. Yeah it certainly isn't as benefical to the developing immune system of a child as breast milk but it's not fatal. What kills babies in the third world is mothers mixing powdered formula with unclean water, water that carries the bacteria that causes typhoid, or even just plain diarrhoea which can kill through dehydration.
