Heres a start...

Coca cola dont do 7-up. its a competitor to sprite internationaly but they used to have the licence to produce it in ireland becaue 7-up dont have a factory here. they lost the licence to produce it a year or two ago to C&C thats why Club lemon and lime has all but disappeared.

BPM and Powerade (both by coke) appear to me to be pretty much the same product but marketed differently.

I was browsing google looking for the makers of Dr. Pepper. Thank guys this site really helped I had no idea Coke made all of those products. I noticed no one is talking about Pepsi products and incase someone wants to know what soda Pepsi puts out well this is what I know... Mountain Dew, Slice, Brisk, Hawiian Punch.. grr I know more just can't think of them right now.

This "Nestlé kill babies" thing really gets up my nose.

Nestlé do not kill babies.

Nestlé make powered baby formula milk and advertise it in third world countries. The power of western advertising mean that third world mothers believe that this formula milk will be better for their babies than breast milk.

This is untrue, but using formula instead of breast milk wouldn't cause the death of a child. Tens of thousands of first world mothers, for hundreds of different reasons, don't breast feed their babies. They use formula. It doesn't kill their children. Yeah it certainly isn't as benefical to the developing immune system of a child as breast milk but it's not fatal.

What kills babies in the third world is mothers mixing powdered formula with unclean water, water that carries the bacteria that causes typhoid, or even just plain diarrhoea which can kill through dehydration.

So basically, unclean water kills babies. And why do third world mothers not have access to clean water?

...I don't think there's enough space on boards to point the finger of blame at everyone responsible for THAT little miracle...

if it werent for Nestlé the mothers wouldnt need to fetch filthy water to mix with that powder crap and therefore the babies wouldnt die of horrible diseases. tbh id say its a lot easier to breastfeed then to go through all that milk-mixing stuff and save money at the same time.

Powdered formula milk sales in the UK are worth £150m annually. So what, mothers spend £150m annually trying to kill their infants?

The formula doesn't kill babies. Get it right.

One of the reasons for using formula milk in the UK and Ireland is that there's many a prude who doesn't approve of a nursing mother breastfeeding her baby in a public place. Which means you and your little 'un may be looking at being house-bound for the first six months while you're feeding. And then there's the entertainment of going back to work while you're still lactating - a friend of mine told me only last week that her boss had a near heart attack when she explained that she'd need somewhere to express milk while she was back working for the first few months.

Only 23% of women in the UK and Ireland are still breastfeeding their babies by month six.

Powered formula manufacturers in Western Africa have been found to be violating international codes when marketing their formula products - however, the reason they are able to do this is that the vast amount of African mothers don't realise the benefits of breast feeding. In addition in countries like Togo there are no legislative laws on how you market something so essentially by pushing their product the formula manufacturers aren't breaking any local law.

In addition to Nestlé, that great bio-dairy producer Danone is also a leading marketer of formula in west African countries.

So why doesn't anybody ever shout "DANONE KILL BABIES!!!"

Because nobody's interested in Danone because they're not the world's biggest food company.

When it comes down to it, Nestlé could sell powdered milk formula products till the end of time in African countries without a single infant casualty if African mothers were properly educated about standards of health, hygiene, cold storage and clean water.

That's why the "Nestlé kills babies" claim annoys me - because it's a gross oversimplification of a far wider issue, it ignores a number of other, more serious factors and it's simply a chance to point a finger at a global corporation and shout abuse before heading home for your tea.

But to go back to the original question, some examples of who makes what:

Unilever is a good example.

Lever Fabergé was formed in 2001 by the merging of two Unilever companies, Elida Fabergé and Lever Brothers.

Lever Fabergé are the company behind the following:

Cif, Comfort, Domestos, Persil, Surf, Dove, Impulse, Lynx, Organics, Physio Sport, Sure, Timotei, Vaseline Intensive Care and Sunsilk, also Ponds, Lux, Pears and Salon Selectives.

Other brands owned by Unilever through various subsidiaries include:

Ben & Jerrys, Birds Eye, Walls, Carte D'Or, Slimfast, Chicken Tonight, Colemans, Hellmans, Flora, Marmite, Olivio, PG Tips, Pot Noodle, Coleman's Mustard, Knorr, they also do cosmetic fragrances from Nino Cerruti, Karl Lagerfeld and Valentino.

As with most things, just take a peek on the packaging of what food you're eating or product you're using, find the company behind the brand and use the internet to follow the links. It gets interesting pretty quickly...

Some of the branding is less obvious than others - for instance, Nestlé, while recognised as confectionary giants, are also behind:

Up to the end of 2001 Crosse & Blackwell were also inside the Nestlé portfolio, until Nestlé sold them to Premier International Foods (Premier Foods UK) - Crosse & Blackwell make:

Rowntree's Jelly

Premier Foods UK make:

The Lloyd Grossman sauce range

And most importantly Premier Foods UK supply "Retailer Brands" to all of the major outlets in the UK - inotherwords they're the ones that make the own-brand tinned spaghetti, baked beans, sauces, soups, beverages, tea, spreads, desserts and pickles.

(As a result it's fair to say that things like, for instance, Tesco Baked Beans and Sainsburys Baked Beans might originate with the same manufacturer.)

Lots of what's made over in the UK is shipped to fill the UK stores in Ireland.

Companies in Ireland that do the same sort of thing include Irish Food Processors, (Larry Goodman's baby).

In July in Ireland, the AIBP Group, which owns many of Ireland's largest meat factories, settled a long-running legal dispute with the Department of Agriculture for €3.81m. This dispute referred to the beef intervention crisis in the early 1990s and ended up being settled out of court. The AIBP Group is another of Larry Goodman's babies.
