Area for beginners to drive in Kildare

I was just wondering if there was any open spaces or tracks around kildare for a nervous beginner. I know there is the curragh, but maybe somewhere more solid and similar to a road. Thanks:)

Kildare isn't exactly Dublin; you could always just putter around one of the housing estates or the quiet back roads. Suppose you could drive around the parking lot at Kildare Village late at night after the shops are closed, assuming they don't gate it off, but you might get the guards after you thinking you're up to no good.
