Terraclean?

I'm consideration getting my engine treated with Terraclean.

But looking at my recent nct results, the smoke test was 0.01

The max allowed is 1.50

Is it worth my while, or is my engine running cleanly enough, thus producing near to factory new output.

Is there a problem that needs fixing?

I've heard of people using Terraclean for a clogged DPF.

No problems that I know of. Everything running fine.
I was just wondering if it would restore some bhp that may have been lost, over the past 4 years.

Your test results are fine, they can increase 150 times before the car will fail, I wouldn't bother messing around trying to fix a problem that isn't there.

Perhaps look at cleaning the EGR and inlet manifold first.
You could possibly do this yourself.

That miller's stuff is great I found the same on 03 focus I had made big difference on how it ran.

Which is the active ingredient in those diesel additives.

It's a lot cheaper to buy it neat.

Depends on the mileage on the engine but some 10 year old yoke with 300k on it will respond better to terraclean then your 520 with 100k.

Similar situation, had a guy with a 6 month old Range Rover complaining to me once the nano polish used on his car has made little difference. 'Your car is practically brand new, how shiny do you want it to be?' Use nano polish on some old taxi and notice the difference.

But I was hoping to just keep everything in near new condition.
Prevention and all that.

Take a look at Forte Diesel Treatment.

Especially, have a read through the reviews on Amazon.

I've used it myself several times in the past and its been far better than Millers etc.
This is what many dealers and mechanics use as well.

Try that as an inexpensive first step.

Do you add it as per ratio, or do youlash the whole bottle in?

If it ain't broke don't fix it. A lot of the times you'll probably just end up causing issues

Check your nct results sheet.
Unless you're running high, or close to the limits don't bother.

My 5yr old diesel is very low on all emissions. So its probably not worth doing a terraclean.

( however... I'm super tempted.. )

Had it done, car was certainly less smoky/smelly on startup for a while, but other than that did not notice any difference. Would not get it done again.

How much ?
What type/size engine ?
Why did you have it done?.. smoke, high emissions etc

Can't remember cost, what ever it was on their website.

Out of curiosity more than anything else, the car was 5 years old saw was hoping for some of the gains they suggest. Apart from being less smoky on startup did not really notice anything else.
