Bit of a farce yeah, but that is modern celebrity culture isn't it. Sher look at the dick measuring contest that this going on all day on this thread. Not an ounce of logic or sense amongst the masses. Bar a miracle, McGregor will get schooled. A good result would be for him to hold his own for 4-6 rounds. Same if I played Premier League football. If I got on the end of a few crosses and delivered one or two successful passes, I'd consider that good given the challenge.

Some folks that are already benefiting from this is the bookies.
Today one of the biggest is paying just measly 5.5 for CMcG. Average is 6.5, best 7.0.

Whereas from January and right up to just before it was officially announced, 10.0 (tenfold return) was readily available.
Even if it didn't go ahead, that would have been voided, and any stake refunded. Hype sells.

He is also 100/1 to win in a minute. (PP) Worth a punt.

It will be an embarrassing spectacle, and one I expect will be ended quickly to protect McGregor.

Yes there is a ridiculous gap in boxing levels, but as I said, the interesting part is the potential variables that I listed.
The result is overwhelmingly likely to go to Floyd, but until the fight happens nothing in certain and you know whether the sport is boxing, MMA, soccer, GAA or anything else, anything can happen on the day.

No he won't because

1) He's bound to fight in a BOXING match, not an MMA fight.

2) I believe the purse is forfeited if he uses strikes or techniques outside of what is allowed in boxing.

When betting on Mayweather by KO, make sure that DQ is also a valid mean of payout. Most bookies give odds on KO/TKO/DQ but not all...

If this fight is above board and Floyd goes in to dominate we could be in for uncomfortable viewing, something I'd hate to see..

I'd hope the corner or ref would act compassionately and professionally, assuming a one punch KO doesn't happen.

You're sorely mistaken if you think it's a foregone conclusion Floyd dispatches Conor early. He might.

You're likely correct it will end with Conor being protected. A very likely scenario is the towel being thrown in the 8th or 9th.

Conor has a granite chin and, more importantly, will be weighing 173lbs on fight night compared to Floyd's 156lbs. His neck muscles are considerably bigger, his footwork and MMA movement will perplex Floyd for at least 2 rounds.

Conor is a far bigger man and stood up to a very good MMA boxer weighing 184lbs on fight night landing a flush 1-2 with 4oz gloves. He was rocked, took 2 steps back and returned fire. Andre Ward has repeatedly praised the boxing technique of Nate Diaz too.

Floyd won't get his timing and unusual movement down to a tee until midway through the 3rd. If you want bold predictions I predict it will be 1 round each going into the 3rd round. 19-19.

After that, Floyd should be able to take over.

That's the thing, Floyd is now 40, has been slower and looking to win while doing the least amount possible for a while, his offensive output has been shocking.

I can't see him coming out to blow McGregor away, plus it isn't the smart thing to do anyway against a guy who is gonna be just hoping to swing for the fence with his left and hope it will get you out of there. Floyd will take away that weapon by allowing McGregor to come at him early and pick him apart.

I see it being stopped in the mid round either by the ref or by the corner as at that point I expect Conor will just be getting slapped for fun while he chases a shadow.

Who knows, maybe Mayweather will want to put on a show but I highly doubt it.

Mayweather won't dispatch McGregor early for a few reasons. I think it suits both sides for this to go a few rounds.Give the plebs who spend big on this a bit of a show.

It's all about the money here so why not have it go into the late rounds.I think it's obvious both sides just want a payday so may as well keep everyone happy.
