I probably should have written it better, I meant the price isn't for me, I grew up with one of those and the earlier versions.

She'd want to be immaculate for that money, I can get a 2003 Fiesta for cheaper than that, without an nct though.

Plenty of vintage stuff on donedeal that qualify for this thread on price alone, not sure are they tested.

Same, mam had a 94 one in burgundy when I was about 10 or 12 years old. Great memories. I remember my dad showing me how to set the tappets with a feeler gauge, every other weekend. I'd say I still remember how.

Can't really get nostalgic about those, fair enough they came out in 89, but they were still churning them out in 2002.

Also, odometers on those only go to 99999 so could be 137k or 237k on it.

Doubtful if it's 137k because the chances of those making it that far is slim. I agree about the nostalgic part though. These were rough and ready even when new and weren't nice to drive at all, nothing special about them at all and by 94 these had efi which wasnt as reliable as the earlier carburetor version.

Factor in the age of the car and some insurers not willing to touch it.

120xxx Dublin plates are around years and years though. At least 6 years IIRC
Keep in mind most T Sports are uk imports, I only ever sold one of them new.

Christ sake, it still has its original tyres on the rear apparently and the seller is using it as a selling point. Worse still if it passed the NCT on them tyres which I can only assume it did

NCT does not check the age of the tyres, only the visual condition...

They do check the age. If they tyre is 6 years or older you will get an advisory but the car will still pass

You will get an advisory for the tyres but it isn't a fail.

Original tyres are still on the rear of the car ,
Mileage is checked and verified,
car is in show room condition for the age it is
Orginal tyres just removed off rear axle ,and fitted new ones

In fairness it's not too bad for a car in that class. The daihatsu variant is a nicer car overall though.

Is the Daihatsu much different? Subaru version has a silly front badge too.
