Lovely looking cat but that's some serious mileage

I was in a taxi a while back and it was a 5 series BMW similar to that and it had over 500k miles but you think from sitting in it that it was brand new.

The taxi driver said he looked after it extremely well though

Timing chain not so problematic, but it comes with swirl flaps and braking crankshafts... Today I would say that I'd rather have a N47 with a possibility of chain problem than high mileage M47...

2007 could be either engine and N47 engines have been known to clock serious mileage too though they may have gone threw a couple of timing chains too on the way.

Looks like a spark plug on my car is gone now too, so that and the hole in the exhaust has me much more strongly considering just ditching it for something else. Will be keeping an eye on this thread!

Do you mean coil pack or just a plug.

If just a plug get 4 new ones extremely easy fix.

I seen on the scotty Kilmore channel on youtube that there is a wrap material that you wrap around the hole in the exhaust for a cheap fix. Handy for DIY'ers who don't have access to welding or pipe bending equipment.

Tax mainly... Plus they are a bit more difficult to diagnose - the ECUs can be picky what equipment they work with...
