Honestly, it would depend on who they murdered, why they had done it and how it had affected them - but I wouldn't disregard a potential partner just because they had committed murder.

We talk about people getting second chances, repaying their debts to society but if they are made to carry that stigma for the rest of their lives then they may argue that there isn't any point in repenting and carry on as they have before - at some point they need to be given a chance to lead a normal life

Why would you bring that upon yourself?

If you were dating someone for about 1 year, all the boxes are ticked and ye are having a great time.

One evening they tell you they murdered someone in self defence about 5 years ago, would you really end it all. I mean it was self defence.

If they are like a Ted Bundy/Aileen Wuornos type then maybe finish it - in a public place of course.

I'm fond of the odd argument or two when I'm in a relationship, I enjoy nothing more than a bout of verbal sparring followed by a tense, strained period of time where neither knows quite where they stand.

If I were dating a murderer these stand-offs would be even more tense than usual; she could strangle me in my sleep, stab me while I'm in the shower, or poison my cuppa in the morning.

All this uncertainty would bring with it a level of excitement in the early days, kinda like an ongoing Russian Roulette, but long-term it'd get tiresome and I'd probably just end up murdering her in the end to ease the tension.
