Ordered FTTH online yesterday (contrary to sound advice on here) to avail of €100 cashback offerwhich was ending No confirmation of FTTH order from Eir. Let's wait and see what happens We are currently 2mb

Checked a few eircodes and they seem to confirm that its not available in those areas. It is showing as available about 1km from nicker where the poles have those splice boxes. No kn vans in the area so Im thinking it will be a few weeks.

Just copped that if it's text -> router delivery -> install then it's pretty unlikely I'll be done next week.

The cabinet is to go live on May 3rd, I'm not sure if that automatically makes the yellow lines go live that fast or not? When I check the second link above, https://www.eir.ie/broadband/1000mb-fibre/ : it says "Great News! Fibre to the Home is available at ......." but when I check the first link it still says only 512Kb is available. I don't think any Eir reps have called around or else he missed them. Does it sound like he will actually go live May 3rd or am I being optimistic? Should I just fill in the contact info and let them ring me about it?

I did do some tests on the F2000 before I disabled the wifi on it and speeds were substantially slower. Engineer told me Eir were recommending only using 2.4 band and disabling the 5 band altogether. I'm actually thinking of replacing the F2000 with something else; I haven't had good experiences with Huawei modems in the past, I went through 5 vodafone Huawei Vodafone modems over 4 years before replacing with a TP Link modem which ended up being rock solid. Anybody else considering replacing the F2000 modem?

My brother-in-law is really into his networking and uses Ubiquiti which are not cheap, next to that he recommended Asus and TP Link in that order. I am considering buying a Ubiquiti unit as they have an outdoor unit which does 5Ghz AC

Connect the Asus to the F2000 using ethernet cable and use the Asus to beam wifi around the house?
