have you requested from builder tiler or the builder supervisor for the pigeon hole

The tiler installs it, you cant chase the dividing wall. I mean touch the brickwork.

Hi, where do you buy the shower cabin? Can you recommend a good shop?

I think the shower doors are 900mm x 900mm. You will need to decide if you want the two doors or one door. Prices vary depending on the quality you require but range from around €150-€700. That does not include installation. I think the sub contractor Taig will do those for all in for under €500. They look easy to install but I was speaking to a specialist last night and he said its the timely matter of putting it together from flat pack and then the hinges need to be altered to make it close properly so that this lasts rather than falls apart.

We are still to get quotes on the blinds so I cannot advise. Has anyone had their full house quoted for blinds?

I think Virigin media wire in the cable themselves using the fiber optic in the street. I purchased a new build so I presume the cables are in for them to?

Can any current resident shed any light on this?

I'm speaking to customer service right now. They say there are no installation fee's for new customers when you have the items you need mailed and a technician comes out. For the TV/Internet/Phone bundle (you have to take the phone I think), this is €35 for 6months then €85 there after. That includes VAT. Does anyone know if there are hidden fee's?

I may take the service for a year then reevaluate. I'm told this is only a 12month contract.

VM will hook up the cable in the box outside, this cable goes in to the attic and then come down in your living room or kitchen, this is where you keep your modem. wifi signals are strong enough thru out the house.

I am gone with VM for internet and telephone and have Sky dish for the TV.

I'm also wandering about how many connections this will cover i.e. Livingroom/Kitch/Bedrooms. But I guess you'd only know for Sky? :-(

You can get tv in three different places but u need to ask VM how much extra would they charge for extra box. Check the channels list with VM to make sure you are happy with the channels you are going to get. I got Sky because few of the channels we wanted weren't on VM.

I was looking yesterday and I thought to myself the channels were not the best.
I was really getting the full sales pitch from a Meteor employee last week (she was very good in fairness) but she was trying to convince me to take Eircom. I was not totally convinced but have to say "All the Sky Football Channels" for an extra €1 a month, thats pretty good. It's €40 extra on VM right?
I might check out your combo today (only internet from VM and Sky).

We went with Clonsilla blinds in the coolmine industrial est. Price will vary on what type of blinds and size of windows etc. We got 4 Venetian and 4 roller blinds (price on rollers blinds will vary based on material too). Quote was around €900 supplied and fitted. The more you buy the bigger discount you get from them.

Hi bbari,

Did sky also come down through the attic for you? I have heard some sky engineers will refuse to come through the attic and that will be one of the deciding factors for me.

I have my house wired for all this and I think Sky wont accept that, they have to run their own cables. I am going to put in my own system as I don't want cables all over the house when there is no need for them.

They could come outside the house and in the living room which would be way neater but they tend to go for route one!!!

Yes, the sky cables will go in to the attic and will be joined to the other cables in the attic which are already there.

They will feed electricity into the house when during day time so they might be able to power the fridge-freezer and a washing machine etc. They will obviously provide more power in summer. It will help cut back on the electricity bills but I've no idea how much. It goes towards the 'Renewable Energy' requirements for all new houses and improves the BER. The houses in Hansfield Wood are using electric air-to-water heating systems to meet their renewable targets but I'm much much happier with gas heating and solar panels. Less to go wrong and cheaper in the long run.

Hi harroll, I was told mid May but it will never happen as my kitchen is not even on the drawing board(customizing few bits), so practically it will be mid June for me I guess...any other updates from other Grove would be residents?

we were told june/july, i drove up yesterday and it looks like theres still a good bit of work to be done on the road

We were told February/March for barnwell square east and it's looking like first week of May so you should add on a month or two to what the builders tell you.

Hi Energy1, have you done your snaglist yet? If so how long ago did you do it? Are you hoping to get your Keys on the first week of May?

Snagging is completed and signed off on. Done it two weeks ago and signed off a week later on it. Due to get the keys next week providing there are no issues with the builders solicitors so should be in first week in May.

in my case, It was a matter of emailing my contact in the bank (AIB) asking to issue a new letter with the extended date. It was a pretty straight forward and quick process.

Agree. I know someone in Dublin who recently got an extension on their extension. Banks are pretty good like that. I think the second extension you would need more reasoning and possibly a schedule of explanation.

My bank(AIB) and the person who dealt with my application in AIB is asking me to provide all the details as if I am applying for a new application such as payslips, bankstatements of other bank accounts etc...so do we need to provide all them again or just we can get a simple extended date on current application for a month..Any suggestions?

Not to be smart but does he/she actually know that you are looking for an extension and its not a new application? My current a/c was/is with AIB and she could see that the same amount of wages is coming thru from the same employer, probably this is how she could figure out that my circumstances aren't changed.
