Mauro's WWE contract does not forbid MMA so this doesn't mean anything has changed. Meltzer claims WWE is trying to offer him a financial settlement which would include a confidentiality clause.

RE: that coach prank, as an isolated it's really quite impersonal in a way it's hard to take much offence to.

That being said, the cops that were involved deserve to have book thrown at them, there's pretty good f*cking reasons why impersonating an officer is a criminal offence and you really can't make any exceptions for the actual ones using the uniform for pranks and ****.

That's the thing we all have different types of sensitivities , and in that industry you had to have a thick skin, that was known. I think it's genuinely funny and harmless, you don't, fair enough.

Hundreds of famous men and women travelling and performing every night , doing stuff like that is a way to occupy time

So essentially because there's always been bullying in that industry, you have to accept there still is? There has always been a very high mortality rate in that industry. That's been addressed and this generation look to be more balanced and we haven't had the slew of deaths, touch wood. Ditto injuries - 10 years ago people were still working through heavy concussion but they have modernised the way in which they manage peoples health.

Would it not make sense to examine similarly destructive and archaic practices in the industry and eliminate them too? What is to be gained by humiliating people?

Nope didnt say that at all, im arguing what some people may consider bullying isnt always bullying. Example the coach story, I dont find it to be extreme, i find it funny, coach himself seems to have a good recount of it. Some may find it to be bullying but in my opinion it is not. So how do you determine whats bullying and whats ribbing, when we all have different sesitivities? Eliminate all it just incase?

I'll say this.

If Coach genuinely found it a funny prank amoung friends, then thats fine.

The issue is (and I'm not saying it is or it isn't, we don't know) that sometimes when people are bullied, they will find it easier to go along and go "Good one, guys", than kick up a big fuss. John Morrison touched on that when he tweeted that JBL asked him to steal Robert's passport, and they considered doing it so they wouldn't be on the end of the bullying any more.

If Coach was genuinely ok with the prank, cool. But here's the issue...if he wasn't, what were his options? Kick up a fuss with HR? Vince literally was involved in the incident himself. Had Coach gone and freaked out, or muttered the word "bullying", he probably would have been sacked on the spot, such is the world Vince has created. When the boss, the top guy in the company, is the one doing it, it doesn't leave the "victim", such as he was, much room for recourse.

Thats the crux of the issue, really. Bullies, by their nature, often won't look at their own behaviour and really examine it. They won't stop and consider maybe the guy smiling and going "good one" might be saying that cause they are too scared to fight back. Psychological torture can have varying reactions; some will laugh it off genuinely. Some will laugh it off while being scared not to. And some will run from their jobs rather than have someone in their lives who are intent on causing them malice.

They'll run out his contract as already reported, this is just confirmation of that from the man himself. Sad to see him go for such reasons, a great commentator and by all accounts a great guy. Best of luck to him in whatever he does next.

I don't think there's much wondering to do.

I don't think Mauro comes off particularly well in the end here. He's been passive aggressively retweeting things about JBL and had his friends basically threaten him, but in the end he's just taken the shut up money. Many would, but it's still disappointing.

I wouldn't be shocked to hear that The Undertaker was one of the biggest dicks in WWE.
He just has that much pull that who is gonna say anything against him. Be it because a wrestler wants to get back in WWE, a road agents job, hall of fame, legends deal, legends toy merch line etc etc. Say a bad word and kiss that goodbye.

It's no secret that the WWE locker room is "swimming with the sharks" - many an ex WWE wrestler has said that. But where does the taker fit? What, we meant to believe he never did any of the politicing or burying guys. But then why was he king of the mountain for so long?

It's often said that JBL was the enforcer in the locker room, he was the guy that (unexpectedly) went stiff on a rookie to test him. If someone screwed up he would be the guy that got a match and with the guy and would go stiff as punishment.

Does anyone think he protected in as much as he is in order to gag him. If it's open season on JBL might he come out and talk about the times that Vince asked him to stiff people in the ring.

It's conjectured and accused so often but it hasn't been confirmed by JBL or Vince.

I could be wrong but I'd say it was more him being a wcw wrestler coming over

I remember DDP doing a shoot talking about his taker feud and how it was more to make an example of a wcw main man, he said if they fought now it would be better, I know WWF guys took exception to the wcw wrestlers coming over like "I fought through pain and injury for the WWF and now these wcw guys are coming over and possibly taking my tv spot after they nearly putting us out of business"

Well the Boy George angle was 2003, long after WCW merger.

It could have been just a hard chair shot and Kanyon got concussed, there may be no alternative motive.

The story Ive heard was that Vince got wind of Kanyon being gay and fired him soon after.

There is no facts at all to suggest Taker wasn't sending a message to Kanyon.

Is it out of the realms of possibility ? Of course not. Back in 2003, a WWE locker room wouldn't have taken kindly to a gay wrestler on the roster. Its very believable But theres no proof to say anything actually happened. Only Kanyon and Taker know for real.

The chairshot he hits Kanyon with their is in no way worse than the one Maven took at Royal Rumble 02, Mankind took at Revenge of Taker or Shawn took at Badd Blood. It is the definition of a non story.

It is entirely possible the segment was pointed at him. But Taker did zero wrong.
