Any idea on changing battery on a HKC Quantum 70 alarm. Is it a case of unscrewing the panel?

We are not allowed share manuals due to copyright protection.

You will need the engineer code to do this yourself.

Enter engineer code, authorized by, user code.
Service menu, press yes, engineer tools menu, press yes, battery menu, press yes.
Scroll to replace battery, press yes.
This resets the time.

Press quit till you see exit engineering, then press yes.

0#5 is a full set with no exit time.
0#7 and 0#8 are part sets for when in the home.

Do you want to set it instantly and stay in or just not have the sound but still have an exit time?
What system is it? & do you have engineer access?

You should not be getting a fault on the bell if it is wired.
If you are getting the fault then he has used a wire free one.
I'm thinking he may of turned on the LEDs and only fitted one battery pack for the time scale you are saying. If so then the batteries may need replacing. If you fit the second battery pack it will keep the bell and LEDs alternating for up to 3 years.

Most companies would have an extended warranty on control equipment and bells. You should not be having any issues like this either way.

Contrary to whats posted above the reset timers option is in the manual.
I dont think this will solve your issues though.

The battery pack takes CR123 batteries.
How far is the external bell in relation to the panel?
Has anything changed around the house that could affect the wireless reception to the external bell?

There is an issue with the RF pathway between the panel and the external bell. You're better off to call your installer as it may be covered under warranty. If you attempt it yourself your installer has no obligation to uphold any warranty and you will be voiding your home insurance if your alarm is listed on it.

I have PMed you that manual. After you change the battery enter the engineer code.On Service Menu press OK scroll to Batter Menu and Press OK, then select
Replace Battery.
